Adios Chris Martin?

Based on a Leeds United fan and work colleague ( can a Leeds fan ever be considered a friend?) he mentioned earlier that Derby are offering Martin to a couple of Championship clubs. Leeds United are said to be interested, its briefly been mentioned on Sky Sports too. They'll apparently cover 80 % of his wages but that is currently being thrashed out.

Personally I'd be gutted if he went there on two counts:

I) It's Leeds
II) we're aiding a promotion rival.

If he does go I'd like it to be to a club lower down who could get results against the top seven or eight clubs. What's your thoughts on him leaving?

Additionally Cameron Jerome rumours getting stronger now based on DET with an offer of 2 million suggested. I'm not excited by this one and feel it'd be better to get him on loan and put that money towards a younger player.

Are we slowly building a Dad's Army style squad, experienced players with leadership qualities? Do we need some 'yuff' and pace in midfield with Johnson outt and Lawrence not quite hitting the mark, yet?

Yes, but only if you swap the word "shoes" with "$hithouse"

Looks like LoveShack is on his way to 'Wall and we've missed the chance to swap the effective-but-ordinary Rowett for the delectable Marco Silva... Just think how much handsome we could've had on the bench for Vidals to drool over.

We're also stuck with MistaKeogh and Pearce, who are not a Shackell for Curtis Davies' talent but merely play as if they are. Yet more shocking squad depleting by the hapless Rowett.

666 do you think Everton will sack big Sam and get Silva now he's free?

Fat Sam must be due a good pay-day soon, it's ages since he got sacked for gross misconduct with a full pay-off.

Watford played a blinder there, didn't they?!! Refused compensation from the Toffees for him and now paying him off themselves!

Abit like Mel with Steve McClaren and Newcastle. Don’t worry about the compensation Newcastle we will sack him, pay him off and then it won’t cost you a penny

That's exactly what I wondered about. £10 million compensation package offered by Everton which Watford rejected.

I'm sure there will be clauses added to his severance pay such as joining Everton in the next 12 months will result in forfeiting x % etc...

If only Derby handled Judas Mac in a similar fashion when he decided it was time to talk like a member of the Byker Grove cast.

Derby were star-struck when ManU came knocking for McClaren in the 1990's.

He still had a few months left on his contract and someone at DCFC thought it a good idea to let him go for nowt. It might not have been much compo., but why let-off someone as big as ManU scot-free? They certainly wouldn't return the favour.
