Emerson Palmieri

Looks like CFC are signing him. Personal terms already agreed. On 4.5 years contract and will get £40k per week. Roma’s asking price for him is believed to be around €25m. Whether the move would be a straight transfer or a loan with an appearance base buy option in the summer instead, i don’t know yet. He’s coming back from a bad injury last season, only played a couple of games this season, so for obvious reasons, the loan with an option to buy in the summer would be the preferred choice.

Also, he would be eligible to play in the CL, as he was not cup tied.

I can’t say I have watched him play, but i have read some good reviews about him. Hopefully he will settle in quickly and hit the ground running. As good as Alonso has been for us, he’s played a lot of football for us. So, he’ll be rotated with Alonso.

Anyone watched him play ? What are your thoughts ?

Loved Wayne Bridge when he was at Chelsea.

Zappa has been alright. Was brought in as a squad player and is doing pretty much what is expected.

It’s the like of Bakayoko and Drinkwater who can’t even pass the ball that are letting us down.

'Emerson's attacking stats in 2016/17 ranked him as the second-most creative and attacking full-back in Europe, behind Juventus’ Alex Sandro. He totalled – all per 90 minutes – 1.8 key passes, 1.5 completed crosses, and two successful dribbles. In comparison to Marcos Alonso, who failed to complete any of the same actions at least once per 90 minutes during the 2016/17 Premier League campaign.

Despite Emerson’s strengths being predominantly offensive, he also won more tackles per 90 minutes than Alonso last term, and was dribbled past fewer times per 90. He is not as strong in the air than Chelsea’s current LB, but such an offensive player is always going to have a weakness when it comes to the defensive side of the game.'

Zappa is a decent sub. Moses is hardly Carlos Alberto anyway.

With Emerson incoming I think RWB is a position we could really upgrade in.

Moses would be a quality back up.
