Henrikh Mkhitaryan classy

Depay was one of the worst players I saw and I had high hopes for him.

A bit of both. I think he is am confidence player and needs to feel as though he has the manager's full backing. He didn't have that with Jose and I think that it affected his form. In addition, our system/style of play really didn't suit him. I believe that he will do much better at Arsenal.

I think he's good enough to play at the top level, but I think he also needs the confidence to do so.

I don't think our system suited him. He'l thrive more with someone like PEA up front as he'll look for through balls in behind defences.

Good luck to the guy... Had some nice moments for us and never cried or moaned about his situation. Hope he does well, i'll even let him score a goal against us in one of our 3-1 men v boys games.

Playing with Auba could really help Mkhi. He never seemed to link up with any of our players that well, often not reading their runs and holding onto it too long.

I'd like to be more nuanced in my assessment of HM, rather than sound like Stretty but I honestly don't think he's as good as we thought he was based on his Dortmund form.

If the system was a problem for him I'd expect it to show up in terms of how often he was on the ball, whether he was getting into scoring positions or being involved in the attacking play.

But Mkhitaryan was getting into scoring positions, he was getting the ball in good areas etc... which to me suggests the system wasn't too critical. Optimal? No. But not so suffocating as to easily explain his very wayward finishing, his very sloppy passing, his getting caught and knocked off the ball, his over running the ball when attempting to dribble and generally just not looking like he was comfortable with the pace of the PL. He was marginally better in Europe, but but not by much.

He's obviously got ability, but I don't think it'll be realised in the hustle and bustle of the Premier League. People have made comparisons to Kagawa but I actually thought Kagawa looked a lot more comfortable for us - it was more a case of him not really fitting into the team when we had Rooney and RvP to accommodate.

He’s a brilliant footballer, he just wasn’t for us. I hope he does well, just like I always do with Welbeck, Hernández and anyone else thats moved on (apart from Ince)
