Man City

Refused to pay over 20 million for Sanchez, refused to pay the 75 million for VVD yet are willing to spend 60 million on Aymeric Laporte.

Now I don’t know much about Laporte but it doesn’t seem very logical.

Their entire back four will have cost over 50 million each.

“By your estimates KDB will cost city £67m in wages over five years plus the £55m or so you paid for him, which is £120m(ish)”

It won’t though as his transfer fee is now spread out over a far longer period, that’s part of the driver to get players on new contracts - it reduces the yearly cost considerably.

KDB is a class act on and off the pitch. Sanchy has shown he's just a merc.

I think the Sanchez signing does show their intent. They are going all out for the FA cup this season

I am, Loz, it’s a different measure and that’s fine. My point wasn’t confrontational, it was just that you’re not looking at mega differences in the cost of ownership (if you want to call it that) between Sanchez and other top players.

Wasn’t being aggressive mate but some united fans seem to forget we have reduced wages overall and signed our highest earners on new contracts with lower wages but better bonuses.

I agree with that post, though you are always looking at a fastly declining asset at that age. That’s still fine though.
