Last 2 windows up there with Boularouz...

Sidwell, Pizarro, and Benayoun windows.

City - Laporte £60m
United - Sanchez free/swap
Liverpool - D|k van dijk £75m
Arsenal - Mkhitaryan Free/swap, Aubameyang £60m
Spurs - Lucas £25m

Us - Barkley £15m, Emerson £20m, Giroud £15m+

Is anyone left scratching their heads as much as I am? All the clubs around us have either strengthened areas of weakness, or added real class competition to already strong areas. This is all despite it being the January window.

In two windows, we have practically reduced the overall quality of the players we have by a third, despite spending £200m+.

Really, really don’t understand our transfer strategy at the moment.

I’ll be honest. I’m not Batshuayi’s biggest fan. He’s frustrating away from goal, he needs to start taking his sheet more seriously and curb the social media pratting about, be a bit more professional. But the boy is a good finisher. I’ll give him that. And he’s - hit some form albeit against Brighton and Newcastle.

Where the logic is in loaning a 23 year old £33m striker, to buy Olivier farking Giroud for £15m-25m. Honestly it’s the Farking icing on the cake. I was well on board with Dzeko. Always been a class striker, and has really hit his prime in the last 18 months. I get it that his demands were too high. Absolutely. Understand why we would then say no. But why are we fishing for second best as an alternative?

As was Zappacosta, Drinkwater, and so many others that we’ve bought recently. Where are our scouts? Has Piet De Visser jacked it in? I could name you 10 top draw players for every position on the pitch, that would add quality to our current side. Just through my BT and Sky subscription.
For the 5 players we bought in the summer, I could give you 3 that would have cost the same amount, but would have been 5 times better in terms of quality.

We’ve become a side that can’t beat Arsenal, and buy their pony scraps to fund them paying for a top striker. I feel like I’m being punk’d. Where’s Ashton Kutcher?

Read good things on Emerson. But I really hope we didn't settle for him and stopped chasing top players in Telles/Sandro because of Alonso scoring he odd goal recently, as was reported. Makes me wonder if there's other top targets we know about and don't bother going for, end up going for a player of lesser quality just because

i would think that his few goals as you casually announce makes him probably the top scoring left back in Europe right now if not more.

What does this have to do with aiming for lesser quality players, in what situation would you not want us to get top players? If it's true we don't aim for them because she's the top scoring left back in Europe I still have a problem

The Drinkwater fee is the most incredibly mindblowingly ridiculous fee in the history of football.
