It may seem harsh to talk about this after a storming performance like Dembele put in last night, but we all know that it is looking like we need a replacement in the near future as his conditioning levels continue to drop.
Here is a good article from a Spurs fan who is a good writer looking at a replacement for our midfield maestro (final part of a 3 part series, other parts are an interesting read but these are his picks):

It’s not harsh at all, it’s clear for all to see that he can pull out that sort of performance, or even close to it, irregularly. We need to stop being sentimental as if we were some mid or lower table team that are grateful he stayed with us throughout the years and that we now owe him. We’re aspiring to be a force in England and then hopefully europe, that means 55-60 games per season; if Dembele is only fit enough for 25 of them then he’s not what we need.
I don’t want a like-for-like replacement anyway. The ball moves faster than any player does, so I really want a deep-lying playmaker to replace Dembele.

If he plays 25 games like yesterday then he’s exactly what we need.
We won’t be playing 60 games against the top 6 and cream of Europe.

Tielemans not been playing much since his move. Maybe we could temp them, really like him

Surely there’s a reason he isn’t playing much? Lol

Doesn’t matter who we’re playing. Winks is injured right now and Dembele struggles with back-to-back games.

Although Eriksen and Toby were internationals, they were probably less high profile than dembele, because they were playing overseas. Players from the dutch league as I understand it, are generally regarded as more risky in terms of how they will perform in England anyway.
Lloris I would just put down to him being a goalkeeper. For one thing, the clubs with more money in England at least probably weren't particularly looking for a goalkeeper at the time.
As a potentially versatile outfield player, with proven success in the premier league though, dembele seems an oddity. As I recall it, no one else of any substance was even trying to sign him, which seems strange.

I'm sure Man United were heavily linked with him back when he was at Fulham. Might be remembering it wrong.

Aye he looks like the real deal. My preferences would be Serri, Ndombele, Doucoure or Allan.

they all look like trouble makers except for doucoure, who looks like a nice young man.
