These are fantastic personal accounts about the Babes. Thanks for sharing them.

The whole 60 years memorial today at Old Trafford was perfect. The minutes silence was observed to a man in the 75K of us before the kick off... even the Huddersfield Tykes kept quiet. Just sorry that it didn't seem to inspire our players save Sanchez who was outstanding and was kicked in the air from kick off to final whistle. The whole ground rose to their feet at 3.04 pm. Stand up for the Busby Babes was the call.

Quite simply the present lot could't lace The Babes boots.

I know they don't get much comments but they are appreciated and read.

Every year the minute's silence is impeccably observed. Being the 60th anniversary makes it even more poignant

The crash was before my time, but although I didn't consciously 'choose' to support United as a child I know it was the tragic history of the club and how it dealt with it that made United stand alone as a truly special club. We must never forget this legacy every year each Feb.

I'm glad it was enjoyed. Football, people's lives were different then, harder, less money, rationing, the result of the war. But lots of optimism too, thanks to Clem Attlee, who wanted to improve the lives of ordinary people, and gave us the NHS.
United were special and loved because with the youth they reflected that optimism, it made the crash even more of a shock.

I remember Munich, I was only 10 at the time, but it was a tragedy that I still remember to this day. The newspapers headlines the following day, with the Elizabethian Airline on the snow laden runway. Ironically United were in North London this past week, as they were the game prior to the tragedy, where they played Arsenal at Highbury, some of mates, who were a couple of years older were at the match. I think the score was something like 5-4. Your team was decimated, but you still managed to get to the Cup Final that year. I don`t think those players, officials, journalists will ever be forgotten.
