Massive decision and appointment to be made by AR. He screwed the manager situation up in the summer with Monk, and hired a nobody that backfired.
After the poor season we’ve had, this next decision is huge.
Think a lot will lose faith and see the club just reverting to type if it is another uninspiring appointment.

Of the three peaks of our height we have been under first time managers. Nothing wrong with an inexperienced manager if they are the right man for the job.
------
I'm assuming you mean Revie, Wilko and DOL....>Wilko wasn't f first time manager.
I also would say that DOL's lack of experience completely caught up with him and nearly 20 years on we are still suffering from the era he presided over.
The lack of discipline that allows Bowyer and Woodgate to bring totally the wrong focus to the club and his ill advised book are great examples of how inexperience can cost you.

Don't know how reliable this is but apparently Strachan has been seen at Elland Road this afternoon.
In the end, who knows who will be the new boss. This is just like old times under Massive Ego. One week a petition against a crest, another week, another sacking and new boss frenzy.
It's never quiet at LUFC.

All managers have to start somewhere, all managers have to at some point manage some situation they're not used to, so it doesn't matter too much the age, nor the experience.
However, some jobs are harder than others and when we've gone through 17 managers in 13 years, Leeds is not the place to throw rookie managers in at the deep end.
I'm pretty sure the best chance to success is appointing a manager with experience of this level of football, with experience of pressure situations, to give him time and to back his requests for players.
Doesn't guarantee success, but to do it the way we try is to guarantee lack of success.

On what basis is Heckingbottom even being considered?

He's a Yorkshireman? As lame as that is, I could see
the club selecting him based on that alone. To keep fans 'happy'.

After three glasses of Soave and much deliberation, here is my take on things!
Firstly TC, I guess we all had our doubts about a coach who was virtually unknown but not in the Forest Green category. We have to realise that we are no longer a club who can attract, or afford the characters who would insist on control of recruitment and dominate most of the proceedings at club level.
So that rather narrows our selection process down to the level where we are trawling for people who are desperate for a job, or are going to be predominantly yes men or to be kind, will have to take or leave it the players thrown at them. Sad to say but that is the present Leeds United.
As to TC, well he was to a great degree afflicted with the handicap of not being high profile enough to influence recruitment or being strong enough to dominate the dressing room.
In addition, he was let down by Saiz, Cooper. O’ Kane and Berardi and they should hang their heads in shame. Cooper and Berardi twice. In truth they have let the supporters down badly as well.
Whoever takes over, and at the time of writing it looks like Heckinbotham, apart from starting with virtually no centre backs, will need to be able to put a lid on the discipline shambles that we have become. My fear is that our limited choice of candidates doesn’t include anybody with that power of character to do that. I only hope I am wrong.
