.... will be a successful season.."
Jurgen Klopp.
So we know net-spend on players is significantly lower than most of the Top 4 challengers but is this target for the 2017/18 season acceptable to fans whose passion for silverware is written in their DNA ?
Will this summer's transfer window be last chance saloon for fans demanding the club finally, finally stake a claim to silverware through ongoing investment in new players?
This is not a Klopp Out article.. far from it... watching the game yesterday was an incredible, seeing the team Klopp has brought together perform exceptionally well, but still succumbing to the all too familiar lapses of concentration and some woefully poor decision making by officials.
Are we now only a GK, Defender and Midfielder/Leader away from becoming a force that will make serious challenges for silverware.?
Finishing in the Top 4....

Pretty sure I've read that Firmino has a release clause, and it's written in the contract that Arsenal cannot activate it.

I sort of don't mind us not doing much this year, if we get into top 4 again I would be happy.
Reason being, Klopp was clearly desperate for Keita - aside from the obvious cliche, I think next year will be a different story. Remains to be seen if he gets a playmaker as well to replace Coutinho but I get the impression we will.

A £40m release clause for Suarez was ridiculous as he was worth a lot more.
Put £250m on Salah and most clubs are out of the picture. Even Real Madrid. Thats what they do abroad.
Keep Salah on current deal and in come RM then he will just do what Coutinho did to get this move IMO.

Do you think a release clause will stop any of it?
Whatever Liverpool can offer him, Real could in theory offer more.
If he wants to leave and his contract contains a release clause, he can still down tools.
Better to not give him one, what if he kicks on even further and becomes the next Ronado, then it can't be triggered if his value to another team exceeds the clause and if he wants to leave he can put in a request but it doesnt limit what Liverpool could make.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it didn't have a release clause, or if it was set purposely high, the player won't sign it.

Doesn't matter about release fees. Players can still hand in transfer requests (snigger) and force a move.
If Dave did with us. He'd be toast also.

Jurgen is moving at his own pace, he is getting his team, his appointments, his tactics etc., all together. Some may wish to shout and scream at him because he hasn't won everything by yesterday, but I'm not one of them.
He made no secret, on the day he was appointed, that it would not be an overnight or easy job to get us back to the top, but that he would do his best.
And that, for me, is what he is doing. We all get impatient, sometimes more so when a win is taken from us under or noses, and need to blame someone for it. Carry on if that makes you feel better. All I ask is that true fans get behind the manager and team - as the overwhelming majority already do - and give all the support until we reach the top of the table.
Again.

TBh we've failed and become just another 4th place club now.
Season for me is a write off. The CL is a bonus. great draw and that but its a bonus now. Nobody expects more than say a QF at best. Porto away will decide the last 16s. the cups were a killer imo and very disappointing attitude from players.
Our decsion to not buy was liad bare yesterday as klopp went with a cb as he'd nothing on offer to play CM. We will miss coutinho week on week now... not just for amanzing skills but as a midfield option.

MITO that's absolute nonsense. Apart from City, everyone else is just another 4th place club.
