Kieron Dyer on Paul Scholes

I have to agree with him, England wasted him by playing him on the left - https://twitter.com/TransferRelated/status/963355868032045056

I used to play football and every year we'd have a Player's Player of the Year award, voted for by players.

There's a guy that I voted for three times in 2 years - he had great seasons those two years. Right back, he was.

There was also a guy who played upfront - our best player. Voted for him once.

I think the forward was a better player, but I voted for the right back, for this specific award, more than I voted for him.

Is that penny anywhere near to dropping yet?

He seems not to have understood, though.

.............

He knows perfectly well what you are saying.

..............

Is he actually stupid?

................

Yes. Most of the Liverpool fans disown him. Hoody filtered him once because he was being stupid. Hoody, of all people.

No, he filtered me as we had a disagreement over Dalglish. I thought we should get a new manager in, he didn't.

If people want to filter others that's their choice, it gives them control over who they want to read. I'm fine with that.

"So you're saying that throughout their careers their peers voted for Gerrard on a host of occasions and Scholes on very few occasions means they thought Scholes was better overall?"

No, you absolute cretin.

I'm saying that that even if throughout their careers their peers voted for Gerrard on a host of occasions and Scholes on very few occasions, it does not tell us who their peers thought was the better player overall.

Unlike you, I'm not claiming that ex-pros rate one of them over the other.

I don't know who would be rated over the other.

Because it's impossible to know.

You made the claim. You were wrong. We've proven that.

Was there every a player who won a host of individual awards voted by his peers throughout his career and at the end people thought the player who won very few individual awards throughout his was better?

Yes.

Our best player, the forward, won less individual awards than at least two other players.

Because, as most people know, votes for individual awards are not a vote for who you think is the best player.

They're a vote for who has excelled in a given season or competition.

Pretty fecking simple stuff.

So it's true, it's an intelligence thing.

Come on, try it:-

Is that what you're left with?

Can't debate the point so you bring out this crap.

Grow up. You are in no position to be questioning intelligence when you can't understand this very, very basic point.

Ask your two year old - may they can help you.

You are wasting your time Winston. TOOR isn't stupid - he understands exactly what you are saying. He is just too stubborn to admit that his logic is flawed and is enjoying winding you up. He knows he is wrong.

Fair enough.

It sounds a bizarre thing to say, but I hope for his sake that he is a troll - because if he genuinely doesn't understand then life will be a real struggle.
