Injury update for ra bhoys

Chris Davies just spoke to Celtic TV with an update on the game for Thursday, which is nearing a sell out.

Straight to the point, unavailable players for Thursday night.

Craig Gordon
Leigh Griffiths
Paddy Roberts
Stuart Armstrong
Marvin Compper
Dedryck Boyata
Anthony Ralston
Johnny Hayes
Tom Rogic (doubtful)

No mention of Compper being out injured for a sustained period from Davies so fingers crossed we get the chance to see him on Sunday.

That's 9 players out of Thursday assuming Rogic isn't fit enough to play a part given the development game was postponed yesterday and the pace of the game on Thursday may be too much too soon.

Arguably only 5 or 6 would be certain starters for us but something is wrong with the training this year, the amount of injuries we have picked up is more than just bad luck. As much as I can't stand Kris Commons these days, he may have a point about the demands Rodgers puts on players in training when our workload in terms of games played is through the roof already. There's a good chance by the end of this season the likes of KT, Forrest etc. will have had to play around 65 games of football in one season

I fear the worst on Thursday and go with absolutely no expectations other than a comfortable win for Zenit which is a sad state of affairs from how I used to feel about us playing anyone at home in Europe.

Arguably this double header with Zenit is the biggest of Rodgers Celtic career to date. A pumpin across both legs and he'll start (or should start) to suffer Deila levels of disdain when it comes to Europe.

Who is Avery? And can he play centre half?!

Agreed McCann but he won't be allowed much of a settling in period that is for sure, we have no choice but to use him now with the lack of CB options left open to us. FFS at the rate these injuries keep occurring we might be forced to deploy Lustig as an emergency CB.

He is a superb player, off the scale in fact

We beat off 24 clubs + Madrid to get him.

That's a lot of hand jobs to be fair.

Could be worse Miller we could end up having to unleash Gamboa if these injuries keep happening.......now that is a facking scarey prospect.

Gamboa was a hero in my world cup 2014 fantasy squad. I snapped him up on my fantasy premier league soon after. Dropped him quickly after that.
