Milner

James Milner is in his best form. He looks very fresh as if the season has just started for him and looks like a new signing. He bossed the midfield last night and was best player on the pitch. He was also excellent when he replaced Ox Chamberlain against Southampton. He was also our best player against Huddersfield and WBA in the cup which was his first game for a while.

It seems Wijnaldum and Can are Klopp's first choice midfielders and then it was between Henderson and Ox to take the last place in the team. But Ox has been disappointing since his motm performance against City. Henderson is Henderson for you. He was good against WBA and Huddersfield and looks fine against the small teams as he can keep it simple and possession but when teams come to attack like Spurs he goes missing.

So deservedly Milner has taken Coutinho spot in recent games and I think when Can is back from suspension our midfield should be Can Wij and Milner.

Milner asset is that he can go wide and deliver a good ball. Most of his best performances this season have been in the CL. In the league he does struggle in midfield so we can't use last night performance as some benchmark

He didn't start against Southampton.

Even I could have played in midfield against Huddersfield.

Southampton dominated possession 1st half but we scored goals. 2nd with Milner on we totally dominated the midfield but wasted chance after chance.

So is can leaving? I think form side can Iis very hit and miss. I would persist with milner for the bigger games now.

Stevie G said on BT sport, without any hesitation, that Can was leaving. I confess I was surprised when I saw the team sheet with Milly on it, I thought the game would be too frenetic, what with Porto's reputation. Yet again, I was proved wrong. No surprises there. Well done the boss for his team selection and preparation.

I was pretty sure Can was headed South in the summer, for one reason, Keita. Jurgen places a lot of faith in Hendo, who ran his heart out, yet again, last night. GIni is a Klopp signing. Adam, for me, is a bolt-on certainty to play. I dread to think what he would have achieved if he had played last night and was back to full fitness.

So, Can is headed out, and good luck to the man. Juve his destiny? Quite probably. It raises another question though which I throw into the mix.

Looking back on Tuesday's game, Juve could well have done with his services. Tottenham? Who, if anyone could he have replaced in their midfield?

He would really struggle to shift anyone out of there.

Dont see keita as a can replacement at all, klopp will want to bring in another midfielder if/when he does leave

He was always going to leave.

He and he's agent will pocket a huge signing on fee because he will be leaving for nothing.

I think this will become a common occurrence in the current climate.

I feel strangely indifferent about this. Probably because it's been obvious for a while.
