Lion Hearts

...and every other victim of Barry Bennell that has bravely come out and helped get this monster convicted. You all have the hearts of lions, you’re the bravest people I’ve read about and you deserve to be held up as a role model for all kids today rather than the hopeless celebrities that get championed instead.

May you and all other victims of this horrific man finally find some peace and closure at last - you’ve suffered so much you deserve it.

Let’s here it for these brave lads

Mind you I see you have received another one star, one can only assume whomever gave this article a one star rating disapproves of the content. I'll let everyone draw their own conclusion as to why someone would one star an article which praises the courage of victims speaking out about a kiddie fiddler, is there one more out there that needs catching?

Completely agree mate. I have a couple of one star bandits which comes with the territory but whoever has one starred this should be embarrassed given the subject material

It's quite striking to see the attitude around all this, now as compared to then. I'm a child born of the 80's so I don't have any direct experience of ye olden days, but it does seem that society in general now is far more concerned around the issue of child welfare than it used to be. In fact modern society often comes across as scared of monsters hiding around every corner. Papers like the Sun will plaster details of jailed offenders over their front cover because that's what sells. The words themselves have become some of the strongest online insults available to people and often induce more emotion than murder. But then, in the not so distant past with the likes of Bennell and Saville, it's striking how much people turned a blind eye - at most just passing the problem on to someone else rather than trying to uproot it.

While I wouldn't say that it isn't a problem for football, it was happening everywhere else as well, anywhere these people could get a position for themselves. Hopefully we have a developing society right now which will not allow them to hide in the shadows any more, although you need only look at the recent problems with Oxfam to see that cover-ups can still exist in order to protect what's perceived as a greater good.

I notice that Bennell has not only shown no remorse, but appeared to be actively enjoying the recount of his actions. I don't think there's anything that can be done for or about these people other than to lock them up and keep them away from any future victims.

Finally, one note on a core part of the article: What this demonstrates is a benefit of the system where people are being named and accused, there is also a potential severe downside in other cases. The question of naming suspects or not remains incredibly difficult to resolve.

Admin is working on posters being able to remove one star posters.
