Accies v Gers - live

I'm expecting a tough game for the Gers as usual. El Bufalo is in for Cumdog.

RANGERS: Foderingham, Tavernier, Bates, Martin, John, Goss, Docherty, Windass, Candeias, Murphy, Morelos.

Subs: Kelly, Hodson, Cardoso, Herrera, Halliday, Cummings, Miller.

There's three good goals but I've spent 20 minutes telling him turn forward and run forward. I thought he spent a lot of the time not actually engaging their backline. When he engages the backline, he's a massive threat. We spoke about it with him in the week. He's good in one v ones, he's a very good finisher. We want him to be using that more often rather than actually dropping deep and creating the play, he needs to trust our players to get the ball to him in dangerous areas.

murty knows what im talking about

as for assists of the top of my head one was a two yard pass to tavernier a few weeks ago and one was winning a penalty against aberdeen

he is getting assists because he is getting up the pitch and involved in the play in the final third rather than crosses like tavernier and candeais

I really think Windass could be a striker. He doesn't have hold up play but he can finish and has pace. With Dorrans feeding balls in from an AM position could be good
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His pace works better from deep though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps but look at the way Griffiths plays for Celtic. And Vardy at Leacister
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The first id rather not
The second plays in a team who domestically get attacked and they set up for that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Vardy is very much a counter attacking player
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Playing off the shoulders of defenders with pace is more what I'm getting at. In any case it's so refreshing to be having footballing conversations. Obviously we are still well behind where we need to be but talking formations and players is the type of chat I've missed for years

They comparing him to Juan Pablo Angel? Seems a bit unfair as Angel was a big money signing off River Plate for a fairly poor Aston Villa team.

He looked good today. I still think his game is developing and can be quite unpolished but he's already proving good instincts and has a good goals to game ratio.

But just thought comparing him to what was an established Colombian international before he came to the UK was a bit unfair. He might get there and I'd actually love to seem him bag a world cup place

i think they are comparing them because angel scored 62 goals in european football and he has matched the number of goals at 21 rather than anything else

i think he overtook asprillas amount last week aswell
