Speed of play!

In all honesty I think we played the game at much too slow a pace and that allowed Rochdale the opportunity to punish us.

Hats off to them, they stuck at it and I think they deserved a day out at Wembley

Now on to our players..................................................

If Toby is feeling peed off because he didn't get picked V Juventus, his form today illustrated perfectly why he did not go to Turin. Thought he was slow onto everything, not great in the air and certainly showed no reasons why he should get a stonking salary increase.

Foyth looked good on the ball and certainly sharper than Toby.

Tripps had his poorest game since he joined us and Rose only started to bomb down the wing late in the game, otherwise it was lets play it backwards again.

Midfield had little cohesion, Victor not really back to full fitness in my opinion and needs more game time. Winks did okay without tearing any trees up. Sissoko was okay and did set Lucas up with his goal.

However playing those 3 in midfield is guaranteeing very little creativity in my opinion.

Moura was the only one who looked as though he could create something and took his goal brilliantly.

Son got through his usual work load and could have had a couple if his legs were on correctly

Which brings is to Llorente, nice touches and flicks, but where are his goals

So back to the original point, we played with pace V United, Arsenal & Juventus and looked a completely team, yes I know we made wholesale changes, but these are highly trained athletes and should by now know the best way to play is with pace.

I honestly could not tell you which was the PL team in the first 15 minutes

If we beat Rochdale at Wembley, I fully expect Poch to field the 1st Team in the remaining games.

Also, if the team that Pochettino put on the Rochdale pitch today can't win at Wembley, then we don't deserve to go further in this competition.

Bottom team in league 2 draws with PL contender. What's wrong here? A couple of things for sure:
- This time the usual closing minutes Spurs game tactic of the famous "Deli dive" followed by the Harry penalty was not good enough.

- Lamela is still ineffective and the manager continues to believe that he is?

- What redeeming football value does Rose have? He can't cross a ball, he has trouble with his passing and he is very slow both on the off the ball? His marking on the equalizer was pathetic! Surely Spurs can do better than him?

All in all, Rochdale deserved the tie and Spurs have another game to play, one that they could have done without!

The slow play comes from inexperienced players (Foyth) and players returning from injuries (Toby, Wanyama, Winks, Rose) being overly cautious and not wanting to make an error. Too many times they look for a safe pass and take forever to make it, rather than making a confident and quick incisive pass.

It`s lack of match sharpness, pick too many players not completely 100% against any team and you will almost certainly struggle at times.

Globaled.........if you had come on with reasonable points then I would not have deleted you.
You immediately made inane comments and thereafter anything you said was irrelevant to this post.

Altho in most aspects I agree with Greaves I dont honestly think that you can play both Wanyama and Sissoko in the same team even agaisnt a lower side.

They both have an extremely poor first touch, Sissoko's is actually appalling for a pro footballer. Neither of them are capable of spotting or executing really telling passes and neither are a real goal threat from midfield.

Altho Wanyama started poorly (a bad free kick given away in about the 4th minute and a dreadful loss of possesion as he tried to do a Dembele in about the 9th minute) he was actually the better of the two and barring those two incidents he mainly did his job.

Sissoko IMO is just a really bad player. I would like things to work out for him because you cant fault his effort but he really is nowhere near good enough to play the role that Poch tried to give him today.

Bright point Lucas Moura looked sharp other than that I am struggling to think of a positive.
