Have any of you...

seen Arsenal win the League Cup?

Seems weird that it is 25 years since we last won this competition. Many on here are either too young to remember that or weren't even born.

For me, the 1987 triumph was the first trophy my team won since I started supporting them so was rather special and memorable. It ended a 7 year drought for the club, and was the start of the George Graham era that saw a couple of titles, a European trophy (Cup Winners Cup), a second League Cup and an FA Cup.
The game is notorious for Arsenal ending the 144 match run without losing when Ian Rush scored Liverpool had enjoyed. "Champagne" Charlie Nicholas got both Arsenal goals - two scruffy efforts.

Our only other League Cup was the 1993 "Steve Morrow Final". Morrow was the very unexpected scorer of the winner, but couldn't take part in the trophy lifting or celebrations after Tony Adams dropped him. Morrow was stretchered away with a broken arm.

It is, of course, now a minor trophy. But a final is a final, and it would be nice to have a bit of joy on Sunday evening. Our last League Cup final was an embarrassment - not the first for those who remember Luton in 88 - while the 2007 saw our young side end the match with 9 men and defeat.

City may be heavy favourites, and for good reason, but so were Liverpool in 87

(lets not forget we have Ostersunds on Thursday - surely we can't fack that up!)

All red again? No, that has turned me off. Not going to bother with it now.

The way we are atm City's 2nd string would beat us easily.

I'm sure you would rather see us play in borrowed Nottingham Forest shirts without player names and numbers on the back, on Christmas Day without subs, but times change man and us youthful Arsenal fans fresh out of school will slam the final and feel wicked.

Watched both league cup wins on tv. The most memorable thing for me was in 93 and that incicdent with Steve Morrow.

Saw Stein score in the last minute in 88' and haven't been to a League cup tie since.

Man City wore blue shorts in last season's FA Cup semi-final against the Gunners, also a Premier League fixture between the two side's last August.

2011 final is up there as one of my most painful memories as an Arsenal fan.

It led to our collapse in all competitions which made Cesc’s mind up to jump ship causing our huge decline in football and results throughout the years

Was probably more depressed after this loss than losing the CL final. At the time I really thought we’d be back and finally win the CL but when Birmingham beat us I saw no light at the end of the tunnel. Hard to believe that was 7 years ago now and I still see no light

I was at Wembley that day. I missed the fack up as I looked at my phone for a split second after getting a message. When I looked up again the ball was going in the net.

Yeah but we did get to see Diaby boot John Terry in the face, so it wasn't all bad.

The EFL have apparently reversed the decision that would have seen Arsenal wear red short in the Carabao Cup final.

Yesterday, the kit info on their site said the Gunners would wear red shorts and socks with the red and white shirt, but that now appears to have changed.
