This is the most I’ve looked forward to a game in a long time. We have had a very Interesting recent past with Barcelona. Near enough every tie from that 99/00 season onwards has been an excellent watch, with some incredible goals and decisions being made along the way. Pure champions league drama.
When I think of the best football games I’ve seen Chelsea involved in, I always go to these European nights against Barca.
I really hope our players feed off the occasion tonight, and for the return leg, and really step up to the plate. There’s no doubting the ability of some of our current players. However we don’t have the characters of the 2004-2012 team. That side relished these games. I really hope we see this from our current side.

In my opinion we must go 3-4-3. And we must take the game to them on the break. I’ve watched a fair bit of Barca this season, and there have been a lot of games against the mid table sides where they haven’t been as convincing as the league table suggests.
They have been playing a flat 4-4-2 most of the time, with a midfield of Iniesta—Busquets—Rakatic—Paulinho (prior to Coutinho). They’ve played a little deeper than old.
If we actually have a go tonight, I don’t think it’s anywhere near done. If we go 3-5-2 then I don’t have much faith. Willian has been excellent lately and must start over Pedro.

Yeah I just meant once it became apparent who we had a chance of drawing for this round. Then again I think we stand more of a chance vs Barca than Real, no idea why just a gut feeling on how we play.

I have watched barca a few times this season and I reckon their defence is worse than ours and that is saying something.
If a team attacks them they don't seem to be able to cope with it as they are not used to it.
If your boys are on form they should go all out attack on them and get them rattled.

I was looking forward to watching this tie the most out of all the first legs (apart from ours) so I was hoping it would be a Wednesday game as I have 6 a side tonight 8 till 9.
Always say I'll not find out the score and watch it when I get home but I never manage it.

Barca have conceded 11 goals in La Liga and just 1 in CL.
Others say this is the strongest, most defensively compact Barca team for a generation.
