WBA 1 v 2 Huddersfield Town

WBA v Huddersfield Town

Saturday 24 Feb kick off at 3pm, The Hawthorns

No Sturridge for WBA, who picked up a hamstring injury at Stamford Bridge last week. Lets be honest, he ain't a threat, I've always thought him as a bit of a donkey. Albion are paying £120,000-a-week for his services and he is yet to get on the score sheet for the Baggies! I rest my case.

Thankfully, the lads' form and confidence has improved and they should come away from this encounter with at least one point. I'm confident of a good victory, either 3-0 or 3-1 to Town! Why the confidence? Well, Pardew has taken the team from 17th in the league to rock bottom! The team surely have no confidence in their manager's abilities. Plus, his reputation among the board has taken a hit following last week’s embarrassing trip to Barcelona. One of the car thieves is up for playing though. So, make sure your car is locked if you are making the trip south!

Wagner is trying to pile on pressure to the teams around us and to their respective managers, claiming the weight of expectancy is much greater for the other clubs threatened by relegation. However, the word maestro goes on to say he is very proud of the twenty seven points from twenty seven games. Er, relegation form David, relegation form. Any one else thinking Mr Wagner has lost the plot?

At the time of writing this, DW has just completed his pre match interview. One quote to pick from, is this.

"We know exactly what our strengths are and what we feel confident doing. We try to do this in every game, home and away. We’ve done it in the last three games and we want to keep our momentum going forwards."

There is no reason to be negative for this match Mr Wagner. If Town continue to press and also capitalise on their chances, then three points should be in the bag. They played excellently against Man Utd in the FA Cup fifth round. However, they did prove a weakness on the counter attack, something to be mindful of David.

Hey Darn, another tactical packed training session!

WBA are one of the teams I believe will drop from the Premier League. Actually, the current bottom three is how I think the league will finish.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table

Form going in to the match is WBA WDLLL and Town LLLLW. The Baggies have hit a slump and Town have moved out of one.

Goal difference is a major issue for the Terriers. Averaging 1.75 goal per game conceeded, which means Town need to score at least two per game to win a match. However, 0.85 is the average score rate for Town. So, Mr Wagner goals, goals, goals! They say a positive or minus goal difference is worth at least one point. Well, that one solitary point may well be the difference between another season in the Premier League and relegation.

I'm not going to bow to Darn's pressure and churn out a thread of yesteryear. He'll be asleep by now at this point of the thead anyhow, he loves his Poppa naps, don't you Darn? Darn...are you with us Darn?

Var wtf

This VAR is spoiling the game. How can it take so long to come to a decision? Rochdale are doing well, all credit to them.

It's an absolute shambles! It's funny though

VAR needs canning, get rid of it! It slows the game down, how can it take so long to make generally very basic decisions?

Without trying to sound biased. Spurs' first goal, disallowed. Slight pull by Llorente, happens every match, barely visible and not really infringing. Spurs' penalty, should not be given, slight impediment by the Rochdale defender, happens every match. However, once the penalty was taken, why disallowed and why Son booked? A player striking the ball, after stopping to check if the keeper is moving to one side, happens during many penalty takes. Yes, the Spurs playeres were enertering the box, but the dicckheads at VAR headquarters did not pull the penalty for that.

Great goal by Humphreys for Rochdale!

It never ceases to wonder why the BIG clubs struggle against teams many places below them. Spurs were lucky to get a draw for the first match. However, it never ceases to wonder, come the replay, the BIG team hammers the 'smaller' team. Spurs showed their class at Wembley tonight. Swansea can kiss goodbye to any chance of progressing!

The Potch saved some players for the Town match this Saturday. It's gonna be a tricky game for Town. Thread will be up later today, about 10pm AWST, just for Darn!

Just to mention, re the question of why or how the big club triumph 2nd time around.

Usually the smaller club have to get the desired result
in the 1st game. There after, the better higher placed club seem to suss them out. As they would be expected to do.

Nevertheless. Rochdale did give a good account of themselves , especially At Spotland, On paper they should never have stood a chance.

Kudos to Rochdale as a club, believing in themselves to keep the tie at their humble facility & give it a good go. When a day out at Wembley would have been gauranteed if they'd taken up the initial offer from Tottenham.

Somehow they got there anyway.
It literally was their final, because if they were to get to the final proper, it would have been against a prem side anyway..

Perhaps from the Spotland point of view,
They made it

Unanimous prediction by LV69.
Swansea will progress no further, They were hardly better than a poor Wednesday side despite being the home side in the 2nd leg.

Despite Spurs apparent free flowing scoring prowess 2nd half. I think Rochdale showed that If Town can match the work rate, and get in the faces of the star players, We can get something from the game.

Snow, Sleet & Slush. A great leveler.
Something that could be a factor come Saturday, Who knows. As a TOWN fan, I'll take any advantage going at this stage of the season.

Hi UTG
did you see what I did there
