The Russian hooligan that left England and Portsmouth fan Andrew Bache paralysed during Euro 2016 has been arrested in Munich on his way to Bilbao with Spartak Moscow. He now faces upto 15 years in prison for attempted murder & grievous bodily harm.

One positive to come out of it then. Where's he being tried? If it's here he's got nothing to worry about, for 15 years read 5 years at a glorified Butlins getting up when he wants, playing Xbox all day and three square meals/unlimited gym access at taxpayers expense.

Time should mean time. 14 hours a day breaking rocks in all weathers, followed by a cold shower, plate of gruel, lights out at 10 on a lumpy mattress in a draughty cell, then up at 4.30am for a bowl of cold porridge with broken glass in and back at it. Rinse repeat every facking day for 15 years except one Sunday a month which is an hours visiting, then leisure time which is basically use of some tatty old books and a ping pong table with no net or ball.

Completely agree. Saw a report recently that some inmates in a prison over here were complaining about the conditions. What do they expect the fecking Hilton for murdering someone.

I actually think hard labour should be brought back rather than leaving them in their cells all day to play computer games

I'd say in general in Russia behave inconspicuously and you'll be fine 99% of the time. Although belonging to an ethnic minority unfortunately renders you conspicuous. But at a football match it's not so safe. Russians aren't really more violent than anyone else but in Russia football isn't such a mainstream popular thing, and Russian football culture is infected with fascist thugs. Put it this way: I'd take my kids to Russia but I wouldn't take them to or near a football match.

There's scare stories before every WC and they pass peacefully, Russia will be the WC that changes all that IMO, it's going to be horrible out there be it hooliganism or racism.

i remember before the Euros in Poland/Ukraine, Sol Campbell doing that Panorama programme warning black England fans that they faced almost certain death squads if they attended.
