Welbeck and Iwobi?

Is there a chance they could both start on Sunday?

The team (barring any injuries) potentially looks like this:
---------------Ospina------------------
Bellerin--Mustafi--Koscielny---Monreal
---------Xhaka----???? ---------------------
???--------------Ozil----------------------???
-----------------------Aubameyang---------

There are 3 roles up for grabs, imo.
The fitness of Ramsey is the first thing to consider. I don't see him being fit to start, although he is back in training. That leaves the role beside Xhaka between Elneny and Wilshere. Of course it is possible for both to start, in a 3 man midfield.
However, if Wenger goes with Wilshere beside Xhaka then it seems as if Welbeck and Iwobi are the only options either side of Ozil.
Another option is to go 3 at the back.

Interested to hear your thoughts on us facing City with both Welbeck and Iwobi starting...

Lets face it. Wenger can't plan for toffee. On top of that our players can't defend for 90 minutes like lower division teams. So we have to be very very lucky to win this.

True to an extent. The players were confident against Chelsea having beaten them earlier last season. I don't think it was that much to do with Wenger's tactical genius. Wenger was very critical after yesterday's performance. But its his job to motivate the players and set out how the team is to play. He is not a pundit so to me, his words indicate that he doesn't do that much man management anymore compared to years ago when he was very hands on.

Wenger has to find a way to play counter attack in a very short period of time and I have no faith in the entire coaching set up behind him to instruct the players without putting in a horror show like yesterday.

I'm critical of the system against smaller teams, but this is the ripe match for 3-4-3 to cope with City's threat and hit on the counter:

-------Kos-----Mustafi--Monreal-------

Bellerin--Xhaka--Wilshere--Kolasinac (or AMN)

------Iwobi-------Aubameyang------Ozil

The problem with 3-4-3 is two fold.

a) It needs a big bloke with movement like Lukaku to make it work properly. Which is why Chelea are having problems with it without Diego Costa. That way you shift the focus from middle of the pitch to the wide areas where your full backs can cross or build of a focal striker who moves the entire width of the pitch depending on the side where the ball is being played. This is why Conte doesn't like Morata or Giroud against a high press and why he dropped them against Barca.

b) It leaves the no.10 completely free. That means De Bruyne or Silva in that space just in front of your CBs. You are utterly fecked against City if you don't have a high caliber holding midfield player picking up that space. We don't have a Kante who can do a job on Messi.

High press works brilliantly against 3-4-3. City are going to do that against us. What we have to do is learn to play quick passes over the top into space behind Man City back line for Aubameyang to run onto in a 4-3-3 not slow build 3-4-3. Wenger has to go back to how we used to play against Leeds Utd in the early 2000s. That team was entirely based on high press. But Henry used to murder them with quick out balls into space.

If its a choice between Iwobi and AMN on the left, i'd prefer AMN - he's tidier in posession and can defend a bit at least

Basically it's the difference between really shiiit and just plain ordinary shiiiit. What a choice ? Where did our squad go? No Ox, No Walcott , No Sanchez, No Giroud.
