I just watched him play for his country and i knew he was not the solution to arsenal midfield problems. Go again and look at the away goals that arsenal is shipping in you will know what am talking about

Nah he's just not good enough

Xhaka is not rubbish, he has a decent pass - but he is not good enough in any position to be in a team that is trying to get in the top 4 - he is more the standard of a decent mid table Premiership midfielder.

I think you're still overrating him

He'd probably have been great playing for one of the big guns in Serie A back in the 90's.

As it is, he seems like a man out of time, out of position, and out of his depth.

Really hope we sell him this summer.

Xhaka is no a DM, he is a deep lying play maker. The problem is he is not good enough at that and cant cope with any pressure in the game and he is way too weak and slow for the PL. His passing is over rated as well.

But the biggest problem I have with Xhaka is not only is he poor, but he brings out the worst in the players around him. Since he has been in the team he has been partneres with Coq, Elneny, Ramsey, Wilshere, etc and every single player who has played alongside him has come under extreme criticism for not doing their job and being good enough when it is Xhaka's weaknesses they are being expected to make up for. Look at Ramsey as an example, constantly criticised for getting forward but that s how Wenger played him to make up for Xhaka's lack of being able to get forward (as he cant cope with the pressure of defenders on him).

And dont forget that for probably half or more of the goals we have conceded this season he should have made more of an effort to defend and let players go unchallenged wehen he should have been the one putting them under pressure.
