Ever since Lukaku tweeted about a North vs South "All-Star" game the interweb has gone crazy about the premise of such a game.
For those of you who are not familiar, in the NBA once a year (in the typical format) the best players in the Eastern Conference and the best players in the Western Conference get voted by the public to play a sort of Exhibition Match for the benefit of the fans, and to an extent for the players own recognition. This is done in American Football as well with the best of the AFC vs best of the NFC facing each-other in the "ProBowl" (I am unsure about other irrelevant American Sports).
As a big basketball fan I have never cared much about the All Star game as it is half-hearted and a chance for players to pat themselves on the back and make everything about them. Similarly the reason it works in the NBA/NFL is due to the the draft picking system their is more talent spread out throughout the league (or at least typically); whereas football & the PL is a bit more of a talent monopoly. Personally I think it would be a bad idea, but no more pointless than the Charity Shield.

north = pick out of man city, man utd, liverpool
south = the london brigade

GKs: No debate here. De gea and Courtois
RB: no debate possible. Walker and Azpi
LB: debateable Alonso yes but then if its robertson it shows issues for the manc clubs.
CBs: VVD and bailly v alderweireld and for me Rutiger. highly debateable
CMs: someone put all 3 city players. can't argue. Southern softies have to have kante in there and after that you can pick form severla eirksen is the most creative though
3 forwards: this season salah and firmino must be in there. aguero too.
south has to have kane but then hazard and then you start to struggle
There is a season why the top 3 are all from north.

I always thought it would be good for the fans to have something like this.
What would be even better would be to have the best 11 across Europe top 4 or 5 leagues play against each other in a mini tournament for best league in the world title.
