Tammy Abraham

I think there is an acknowledgement that we're in need of an upgrade in terms of our second striker, but we're not going to get a top grade striker to compete with Kane - so it's either young and raw (Jansen) or old and experienced (Lorrente) - neither of which has worked in the last few years.

If you assume both Jansen and Lorrente are moved on in the summer, what do people think of Tammy Abraham on loan at Swansea? I've seen him a few times now, and while "raw" is an understatement, he plays a lot like Kane can - strong, comes deep, good link up play, not afraid to get stuck in.

His finishing needs work, as does his consistency, but this will hopefully come with age. Developing a player like Abraham seems like a perfect "project" for Poch.

Would Chelsea consider selling?

Thoughts?

Looks far to Adebayorish to me. Looks a bit awkward on the ball and seems to pick out the wrong option all the time. He made a decent assist yesterday I'll give him that, but looks like he tries to hard and nothing really comes off for him.

I wouldn't go near him. Doesn't score enough for me and whilst he might get better with age and in a better team, he's English, which practically doubles any transfer fee. Not worth it.

We're in a difficult position really as we've got the best striker in Europe on our books. Anyone coming in with sane mind knows they'll be warming the bench. I'd rather see English talent like Abraham out there playing every week to improve. We can get some kid in with potential. Have we got anyone from the academy who could come in?

No way. Far too raw and not all that promising from what I’ve seen.

Pendants corner; Janssen and Llorente.

Timo Werner as back up? I’ve not seen much of him but this is a guy being touted as leaving for £50m+. On what planet are Spurs paying that for a back up striker?

lots of potential in tammy but the ceiling is not that high.

We could not give him the time necessary to develop him.

Timo Werner for me and Troy Deeney for two years.

Two differing backups for Kane and protects us if Kane ever broke his leg for example. Do not like to see Son as a centre forward at all.

The one disadvantage of having Kane is very few strikers will want to join knowing they likely won't gazump him.

Your best bet is a decent striker who also plays well on the wing, prime Anelka would be an ideal player for Spurs with Kane about, just like he was for us while we had Drogs.
