Are Arsenal a big club?

If the answer is yes, Arsenal are a big club, then how can Arsenal FC accept a manager who has only won 3 League Titles in 21 years?

Arsenal are a big club.the potential is there.
and this is why they rightly should and have been for the last 10 years been criticised for their lowering of their standards.
the moment SAF didn't see wenger as a threat anymore was the moment, Wenger had to adapt or move on.
Thats what happens at big clubs. Arsenal themselves haven't tried to adapt, address the obvious.
always 2 men short. philosophy was there, but always coming short. and they have been getting softer and softer mentality wise, and its now ingrained with this current management/board and the selfie twitter instagram hair gelled players.
Once the purge takes place, Arsenal will be all the better for it.
The mind boggles what the thinking is right now....

A big domestic club yes, but a European no mark, Arsenals low achievements in Europe will always stop them from being a truly big club. You can't compare them to Lpool, United or the continental big boys.

Don't United average around 3 titles every 21 years?
For most teams 3 titles in 130 years would be nice.

There are also 6 "big teams" so 3 titles seems a fairly acceptable target every 21 years.

That's the thing, I see arsenal as a domestic big club, but then it leads you to think why has the club accepted a manager who has achieved so little over 21 years there? I mean if this guy had done what he'd done at say Leicester then you'd think wow he's been truly great. But he hasn't, he's had the resources of Arsenal at his disposal and he's only achieved 3 pl trophy and a bunch of domestic cup competitions and nothing to bring home from the continent.

It's at the point now where when you weigh up the whole 21 years at Arsenal, was he really that great?

His first third was brilliant.
The next third - given the circumstances - were oksy.
The last third has been a failure.

Man City's goal difference is 62, Arsenal's is 12.

Arsenal are a big club. sure they come somewhere in the top 30 in the world. Wenger is not a big manager anymore. not for a long time...

Typical Yoonited fan - driven by the need to support a big club!

What are your thoughts on the topic?

My thoughts!

$hit article and my thought is that any football fan who supports a football club because they perceive them to be a big club isn't a fan at all.

Support your club because they're in your heart, not for how 'Big' they are or how many trophies they have in the cabinet!

They are big domestically but you can't lump them in with:

Manu
Lpool
Juve
Madrid
Barca
Bayern
Milan

Teams that have at some point absolutely dominated at home and abroad

Of course Arsenal are a big club, third most successful club in the country. Massive fanbase as well. Things arent right at the moment but that doesnt change the fact the club is one of the finest in the country.
