More madness

It appears our signing from Japan, Yosuke Ideguchi is struggling adapting to life in Spain at 2nd Division Cultural Leonesa and getting next to no game time.

Whilst this move on loan may have been well intentioned, given our own deficiencies, many have questioned the wisdom of the club to farm him out. If he's not featuring out there, what's the point?

More worryingly for the player, what damage might this do to his chances of playing in the World Cup?

Any way you look at it, it doesn't look a smart move but what do I know.

Orta is God and Orta knows best.

Rich I said early on, can’t see him making an impact in our first team till season after next that’s if he makes an impact at all.

Big song and dance made in September about appointing FUJITA to open the floodgates to the far east, 5 months later we have one player now on loan in Spain and not playing.

People said Ideguchi is good move as getting him before value goes up in summer after world cup, if such a great move then why not more of them?

I remember nearly 20 years ago lufc announced Chinese website to tap into far eastern market, I bet people don’t even recall that as it had such little impact, I’m not holding my breath on this current far eastern venture either.

If Ideguchi, supposed to be a rising star and destined fir World Cup can’t get ahead of sosnish 2nd div players cud they’re first teamers (sounds like PH justifying not changing a winning side) then there is a problem.

If you want a Japanese to acclimatise to Yorkshire, you don’t send him to Spain.

Agree Jonty.

To Matty's point though, I remember at University we'd run in to a contingent of Spanish students, often. We'd
be hammered by 10:30 and they'd just be getting going.
It worked on campus, but not in Leeds city so much.
So I can understand Ideguchi having to adjust.

Which then goes back to Jonty's point.

Thinking back, FUJITA was appointed in summer, abd all we have to show is Ideguchi.

One wonders what metrics AR uses to measure the success of appointments like fujita.

Or the success of appointments like orta... or the success of goalkeeping coaches who are orta’s mates

If you’re using stats then there will be a star around how many league places a certain amount of spend on team is worth, it won’t be perfect but there will be something that states average player value needed to move from 7th to 6th for example. Additionally when you take the role, you will agree some goals ie you need to get us from 7th to 6th how much budget do you need to achieve that?

Simplistic I know but if you are data driven which Orta says he is then those are metrics you can use.

Out of interest did Orta show his face at riverside on Friday?

I thought this whole ideguchi thing was about owning ourselves up to the far eastern markets, selling merchandise etc in Japan, China, India etc in what is essentially a growing market which schum to be fair to them(yuck) have exploited for their own gain, whilst we’re still fooking about trying to sign decent players to get out of the c’ship, this is so fooking annoying

Fujita is a scout it was supposed to be about unearthing talent.

Nobody knows how he is going to adapt to English football but lets give him a chance before he even gets here. How many players from Asia have made an impact in Europe straightaway? Not many.

There are many reasons he could not be starting or playing more regularly, he hasn't had a break from playing for one.

Journalists and Asian football followers have said he suits the English game, so ill judge him on that next season. Certainly not a stint in Spain straight off the back of a full season in Japan with a team who cant afford to play him when he hasn't adapted yet, just for our sake.

Lets see what he does at the world cup.
