Forest Publish Accounts

This is worthy of discussion, various talking points;

“As part of the acquisition of the club by Mr Marinakis and Mr Kominakis, an historic loan of £40.4m was written off which led to the club reporting a profit before tax of £32.1m," the report said.

Wages still excede turnover

Is this historic loan from the Doughty era?

We only received £500,000 in TV royalties, would we be better with our own T.V Channel?

So this is for fawaz’s last half a season with us?

There’s minimal difference for turnover or wage spend from the year before, but man, that debt write off is massive. Surely this free things up for a spend for a decent spend by karanka?

That’ll be ontop of the increased season ticket sales from this season and hopefully the clearout from last and next window saves us more than warburtons window cost us.

On the TV side of things, I’d definitely sign up for an away fan TV subscription. Not sure how feasible it is with ifollow et al though

On the beeb site Colin Fray mentions that the league might dispute the write off but in the worst case scenario Forest are still within the FFP limits.
Since the these accounts were issued Britt was sold.
Next season Forest will have a fat wedge because 2014-15 debacle will no longer be relevant.

I was wondering how we were able to afford all those premier league wages.

First time in a long while there has been a positive story about Forest’s finances!

I’m not advocating splashing the cash. It doesn’t appear to have worked for Derby, amongst others. I would rather Karanka built steadily. A big splurge on players will just lead to the more excitable fans wanting the moon on a stick.
