For all this talk of Chalobah, RLC, McEachran, Corklett etc down the years i think this lad has been more impressive than any of those ever was.
I don't like to make these type of comparisons but he reminds me of KDB when he emerged at Genk a little bit. His passing range is excellent, he creates chances for fun (broke the record for chances created in one match in the Europa this season) dribbles well through midfield which helps put's his team on the frontfoot and has a decent scoring record for a CM.

Mason Mount

IOAG tbf we haven't really appointed suitable managers for it, even AVB who was appointed with a long term view always choose the seniors he was trying to get rid of when push came to shove.
If we can find whoever the next Poch is, then we are laughing as far as these guys development are concerned.

Yep, I've also been following him and seems to one of loan successes of this season. He has scored some quality goals and shown a penchant for good set pieces, either on delivery or for scoring. Videos I've seen also as you say show a decent turn of acceleration that he uses centrally and from the wing. He is roughly matching Baker's output so far from his first Vitesse season but Mount is younger than Baker was and Vitesse fans seem to rate him higher (with Baker a lot still said he wasn't involved enough in general play, and watching Baker for England youth something I'd agree with). He also has experience playing and holding his own against the likes of Lazio in the Europa League this season. Shame they got quite a hard group and were knocked out.
The next loan is important though. Too often players impress at Vitesse then kind of mull about on their next loan. Championship could be an option but not a fan of that, Vitesse loans should work as bridging the gap between Champo quality and PL quality (though that hasn't really been seen yet). But another loan in Championship level would kinda mean even if he's successful he needs yet another bridging loan if we see him as future Chelsea quality. Decent continental club loan could be good.

If we are in Europa next season i would keep him here atleast until January, he's proven he can hold his own in that tournament and that will be a good 7-9 games minimum (including the league cup) before Christmas which would give us a good indication of where he's at in terms of breaking through with us.
PS where can you get Vittese fans opinions? i have tried everywhere

Lol, there's a few on twitter @VitesseCFC and @InsideVitesse both tweet in English

Not too clued up on who's who in Germany, but it could be a good place to start looking. They're constantly bringing new players through to the top level and have had a good crop of young coaches who've also worked at youth level.
Even though he's supposed to be an oddball, Tuchel might be worth a punt as long as the focus was on developing a team based on your grassroots system. Problem is there are a few people talking him up for Bayern. Hasenhuttl is another who I think has done well with youngsters.

I've always admired your passion regarding the youth......But i don't blame the head coaches for their lack of progression.
For me it is no coincidence that nobody post Roman has given the youth a sustained run in the team.
That tells me the head coach hasn't felt safe to take that route.
You can tell me it's not Roman picking the team. Good point, but it at board level and Roman that targets are being set. The club could have easily changed their strategy and hired their head coach based on that strategy. Then the youth would perhaps get their chance. It won't whilst there is pressure to be successful.

Think it was a mix of quite a few things.
One of which what you alluded too, another being the manager's weren't the best proven with youngsters (although i reckon Conte is managing CHO and especially Ampadu really well so far) and another is we didn't really have any stand outs. Hiddink got a lot of stick for not playing Ruben and Kenedy much in 15/16 but have either done much since to prove Guus was wrong? The former has caused a lot of debate and i can understand why people rate him but my problem with him is he just doesn't impact games anything close to what he should, i have the same issue with Charly and Boga, watching CHO compared to those two is night and day.

Why thank you!
I think Mount is a decent player and probably the pick of our young centre mids, although Kasey Palmer is neat as well.
The one player I do like from the academy though is Dujon Sterling, I'd rather see him used as Moses understudy than Zappacosta - that could have saved us £20+mill - come to think of it I'd rather see him start in place of Moses!
Another that doesn't seem to get mentioned much on these boards that always impresses me is Reece James.
As always though we never have a chance to fully evaluate them as fans, as we never see them given a chance with the 1st team.
For me, some of these lads could do just as useful a job, if not better, as some of the turkeys we've bought and could have saved the club the best part of £100m

If you're wondering why I didn't mention RLC and Lewis Baker, it's because I don't know what to class them as any longer.
They're at the age now where they're not academy players any longer but not fully fledged professionals either.
I really think that if we're not going to integrate them into the squad next year they should be granted permanent transfers so they can actually get on with their lives; I think it's a bit unfair that we loan them out constantly so they don't have any continuity with their respective careers.
