Going on his work for Chelsea only…………………
Based on 03/04 season I wouldn’t. His rotating of the squad was actually too excessive IMO.
But actually (and I understand you all think my logic is shocking) based on his work before Roman, especially the 02/03 season, I’d say he’d be worth a punt, if he and Roman could put the past behind them.
I know 2nd place is much better than 4th before some genius points that out to me. But I still feel Ranieri’s best work for Chelsea was that 02/03 season. Out of all the pre-Roman seasons that finished without a trophy, that was my most enjoyable season and it was the season where Ranieri was showing he was justified in paying 11m for a useless beneficiary of nepotism.
Would you consider Ranieri?

No. There are other managers out there who would be an improvement... Sarri, Simeone, Allegri and Ancelotti.

Based on his work with Chelsea no, we sacked him for a reason.
But based on his overall CV, his style of management, and his connections to us he'd make a good interim manager. Hopefully he's available, and not retired, next time we need one

I’d take him as DOF

Exactly my thoughts. He'd be perfect for it.

I don't entirely agree with that. Under him we reached CL Semi Finals, where we should have beaten Monaco but still a SF. Runners up in the league and clear points improvement over previous manager. So what you said clearly unfair. Roman wanted his own man in charge not a Bates minion. That's understandable in any regime change.
Many Fans thought he deserved to stay on. It wasn't long before the Jose charm won us over, but do not forget that Mourinho inherited Claudio's improving form Chelsea. We won the Asia Cup in Kuala Lumpur ( on penalties) just weeks before he got fired, By chance I met him and the team waiting for their return trip, JT Lamps etc, rested in the public lounge at the airport mobbed by local fans. A cool gentleman was Ranieri and I do not remember Mourinho ever saying a good word in his direction....

Tway
Shouldn't be taken as a slight on his work why'll our manager, but with Roman coming in we were ascending to a level above his capability and it was the correct decision to replace him with a manager befitting of our evolution.
And 15 years later nothing's changed. We've reached the level we set out too & Ranieri (minus one season) has remained at the level we left him at. Hence, we sacked him for a reason
