GK- De Gea is undoubtedly best in the league and probably in the world.
LB - Andrew Robertson edges Young for me. It's his natural position and has better defensive qualities.
CB - Virgil Van Dijk is top 5 CB in the league. He has to be in it. Man mountain.
CB - Eric Bailly is also another one in the top 5 in PL. Beast.
RB - Antonio Valencia is better than all our RB's. Consistent.
CM - Paul Pogba. Class. Mismanaged at the moment though.
CM - Emre Can. Midfield engine and has quality.
CM - Nemanja Matic. Defensive shield and a good signing for Utd.
LW - Sadio Mane - On paper you'd choose Sanchez. But he has struggled of late and on current form would pick Mane.
RW - Mohamed Salah. Signing of the season. Has to be in the team.
ST - Roberto Firmino. Best false 9 in the league. Creative and also now a goalscorer. Hats off to him. Without him, Salah and Mane are less effective.

Wouldn't call Bailly a top 5 defender. VVD, Otamendi, Vertonghen, Tarkowski, Kompany, Azpilicueta, Mustafi are all better than him. Some by quite a distance aswell.
Still, I would include him in this combined XI to be bossed around by van dijk because Eric can be a bit erratic/lacks composure (bookings and fouls), his passing is not great and also not great in the air.

That’s not true, whilst he can’t be called that yet, you can clearly see he will end up there.

Bailly is on par with Tottenhams Sanchez. Solid, but not among the best in the league.

Yet.. as in over a sustained period, but he’s solid with out being flashy, Vidic like, where’s vvd, who is top 5 has it all, but more like Ferdinand. Would have loved us to pair them together, Jose facked that up and bought lindeloff who’s awful.

There were high hopes for Lindelov, but I just don't see it. Might aswell play Blind there who's just as good with the ball and more acclimated with Smalling in the absence of Bailly. Was surprised Jose didn't go for vvd when he was unhappy at Southampton. Him and Bailly would be immense and fierce. And then City snatched Laporte, another CB who I rate very highly.
Although Smalling has good games he is not consistent enough to be part of the spine. It would be shrewd business if Jose can capture Alderweireld. That's the caliber you want to have playing for United.
