Leeds United v Reading Matchday Thread

Time for the Team to show the Fans what they can do, a trip to Reading for the Travelling Faithful, this could be a chance to get over the last few dismal results, pretty hard to be optimistic tbh, Jaap Stam will be fancying his chances over LUFC and hopefully Hecky will have read the riot act and decided to play 2 up front and go for the result.

Venue...Madejski Stadium...Date 10th March...Kick Off..1500hrs

Team News
Leeds defender Liam Cooper is an injury doubt after sustaining a dead leg in the midweek defeat to Wolves and will be monitored. Forward Kemar Roofe is also doubtful after missing the last three games due to a calf injury.
Goalkeeper Bailey Farrell-Peacock made a rare start in midweek and boss Paul Heckingbottom must decide between him, Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan, who is hoping to be fit after a sore neck. Defenders Conor Shaughnessy and Luke Ayling (both ankle) remain unavailable as Leeds bid to avoid a third straight league defeat.

Reading
Reading will be without winger Garath McCleary against Leeds after he was ruled out for the rest of the season.
McCleary sustained injury in last week's home defeat to Sheffield United and it has been confirmed as a broken ankle. Omar Richards and Yann Kermogant are still out due to respective calf injuries, although the latter is closing in on his return.
Defenders Paul McShane and Tommy Elphick, plus forward Joseph Mendes and winger Callum Harriott all remain sidelined.

Match Facts
Reading have lost one of their last eight home league matches against Leeds (W3 D4).
Leeds have failed to score in five of their last six league visits to Reading, winning the only match they scored in 2-0 in February 2015.
Reading and Leeds have both won just seven Championship points in 2018 - only bottom of the table Sunderland have won fewer (6).

Leeds have lost back to back league matches by at least three goals for the first time since November 2003 - they haven't done so in three consecutive league games since January 1947, with the first of those three defeats a 3-0 away loss at Middlesbrough.
Yann Kermorgant has scored three goals in his last three Championship starts against Leeds, including the winner in this exact fixture last season.
Paul Heckingbottom is winless in four previous Championship meetings with Reading (D2 L2), all while he was manager of Barnsley.

So there it is, i'm not going over the top with my prediction on this one as Teams will be thinking Leeds are there for the taking but hopefully we'll prove them wrong a sneaky 0-2 win with Alioski and Pontus to score

Well and truly deluded Peak. They maintained that
belief after the vast majority came to the obvious
realization that we utterly suck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But they’ve said all season this is a top 6 squad! Based on what ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If they came out and said they were sh!te then the players would be demoralised and the fans would get on their back.

Agreed, but can understand why they said what they did.

But Orta's one of the main voices saying they're top 6.
No way he's saying they're sh 1 Te. Not in a million fooking years would he do that. And that's because he's deflecting from his own ineptitude. And laying any failure of this top 6 squad on the manager.

Granted, they're choice of Heck helps Orta's cause.

Chuffed with a point

Dallas wiĺl never really win me over - his lack of pace is his main weakness and one of the teams in general.

Nobody said all season that we were a top 6 side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Time for the ostrich to get head out of sand! Ar, Orta and Kinnear have insisted that this is a top 6 squad. They’ve said that throughout the season. Keep up mate

Dallas is a good winger if we had someone pacy and direct on the other side. Because we don't, his lack of pace becomes more evident, but he's pretty solid everywhere else in his game, and for me his stamina partially makes up for the lack of pace.

Pace isn’t everything. Stamina and intelligence can offset a lack of pace to an extent. Snodgrass is a good example of that.

Snoddy had a feint like Eddie Gray. All you need sometimes to find half yard for the cross.
Dallas does not. I have to say though he did beat a wolves player for pace the other night. I was astonished!
