Are you telling me that the club would turn down £6M/£8M/£11M or whatever the made up bid was this week for the prize money in the league and the riches of the Europa League qualifiers? A potential profit of anything from £2-9M in less than a year?

What is the league money including TV money? Not much more than £2-3M.

IF you get through the EL qualifiers to get to the group stages you get €2.6M plus €360k for a win. let's say you do ok and win a game or two. You'd walk away with €4M plus £2-3M domestic. now is he the sole reason that you would get that far?

Yeah I can get why keeping him is so important that the club would turn down such a bid

I expect that if we were offered ~£25M he'd be gone. His goals in crucial games make a difference. A difference in getting to the CL group stages and getting £15M min plus TV revenue plus £1.5M for a win. We could make anything from £20-30M in the CL. Selling him for £20M and risk losing out on more would be daft but selling him for £25M say means if we don't make it we at least have that money still to go buy more quality to keep us at that level or improve.
