Russia

Planted a pawn in the oval office and used a wmd on your soil.

This shlt needs to end. What will the world do?

Absolutely it costs lives, taking out a retired spy on the streets of Salisbury with a WMD is not the same as taking out a head chopper in a war zone with a drone though.

I think its pretty obvious, on the balance of probabilities who the finger needs pointing at.

Our Government might be able to turn a blind eye, pay lip service to one public assassination on our shores but a second one, its taking the pizz.

Unexplained death of a Russian national being investigated now in London. Happened yesterday. The guy was a close associate of Boris Berezovsky another anti Moscow Russian found dead in London a few years ago.

Probably the bumbling clown that carried out this shambles of an execution thinking it was still 1963

Balance of probabilities is not enough for me, not after the WMD debacle.

We should have made these enquiries through diplomatic channels, not through the media. The fact we have not is a little fishy. I feel there is more to this than Russia killing a long retired spy.

I am with Corbyn on this one. Wait and see.

If it did come from the top, then the UN has to act. Good job the Winter has come to an end, we may be short of gas soon.

No appearance at the World Cup for England either if proven . A token gesture, but it will make bigger waves than any diplomatic expulsions

Fair comments but if not Russia, Who?

What do we have to gain?

Putin wants a return to the cold war as an excuse to re establish the Soviet empire.

Maybe I am just fresh from watching McMafia, but is it possible it has come from a faction within Russia, but not been sanctioned from the very top?

This is what the diplomatic channels are for - if there is a lack of co-operation we can assume it was from the top, or there is covering up from the top. This approach has essentially shut the door to that avenue.

We have a bumbling, ham-fisted approach from.the government, and long-term sympathy towards Putin from many on the opposition top table. Shambles.

May did say if it wasn't govt sanctioned then the authorities had lost control of its poison stock. Embarrassing for strong man Vladimir.
It may well turn out to be a faction, given that we followed the nuclear trail of lugavoi and hes now an MP with a tv show, if we can trace this nerve agent back east, then there is still culpability.

Like you say though, it should have/could have been handled better and if we cannot provide proof linking it to Russia after the furore, our standing in the world plummets.
The thing that i think is in Mays favour is, she's such a ditherer that I dont think shed have done what's she's done, acted so decisively, without irrefutable evidence. If shes wrong, shes finito.
