Excuses or Reasons?

United bombed out by a poor, poor Sevilla side last night and Jose wasted no time in working the deflection tactics. In his post match interview he brought up the fact that whilst Liverpool has the champions league, they didn’t have the FA cup.

Then in his press conference he basically said that United are used to being knocked out of the competition with his I sat here with Porto - United out! I sat here with Real Madrid - United out!

And the fact United have won only one of theyre last 9 ko games in the champions league would say he’s right!

The quote is pretty insulting to United, tbh.

It basically him saying he's still a winner but he's being dragged down by the club.

He doesn't have any point whatsoever either. United have an impressive winning tradition, and he was appointed to restore it.

Last night was just a much bigger hiccup than he expected, must've been pretty rattled going into that press room.

Did a cockney steal your mum from you or something, you seem awfully upset. Just so you know Spurs are not a cockney club and the vast majority of our fans will not be cockneys.

It’s weird you use

Us conceding 5 at city whilst down to 10 men - Spurs conceded 4 with 11 men.

4 at Spurs, when you were good and we were bad.

3 at the emirates when we drew - you lost 2-0.

2 at old Trafford where we lost by 1 goal - spurs lost by 1 goal to.

And you state we need to improve whilst everyone says spurs have the best defence.

As a Man Utd fan I don't think it would be a big shock as Porto as we all know Liverpool are scarily good going forward and if you have goals in your team and lots of them in a cup competition you got a great chance. This Liverpool team going forward are one of the best on their day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

All very true, but I have seen their defending in the big games also, 5 conceded at City, 4 at Spurs, 3 at Arsenal, 2 at OT. They will need to improve massively in this area to stand a chance.

All but one of those games were played before we brought in Van Dijk who is improving us in that area.

It's what he does and it's an excuse not a reason. Jose though could still have the last laugh, if United win the FA cup and finish second whilst Lpool get bombed out in the CL QF or SF, and there is no guarantee they will qualify next year.

It's all still to play for, and as usual the scousers are crowing far too early.

Bringing Liverpool into this to deflect your own teams troubles just like Jose.

Oh and there was a lot of crowing on saturday from a lot of Utd fans.

José only won the CL because the ref made terrible decisions that cost united the match and then they got drawn against poor sides. It was a fluke year.

I'm not a United fan, I just find it amusing that Liverpool lost to United at the weekend to go 5 points behind then but are now crowing about Seville beating United. I know it has been slim pickings for Liverpool for a while but I hadn't realised things had got this bad.

Are you new to football?

Any bad result for either side turns into a LAL/LAMU extravaganza. It's been that way forever

I dislike Mourinho with a passion, but even so I find this pretty mean-spirited.

The beat what was in front of them, and what was in front of them were certainly no pushovers.

All their opponents had beaten one of the European juggernauts to earn their place in each respective round. They were all more than worthy of their place, as were Porto of their title victory. No almighty fluke involved at all, imo.
