It's not even that city are a quality side, I just wanted someone new. Wait forever to get back into the quarters and we play a team we play every year.

The thing is, games against big teams are only as much fun as the result. I thought it was great when we drew Madrid in the group stages in 2014 - wasn't so fun when we were 3-0 down at half-time.

Not saying we have more chance against City than Madrid/Barca, but really the result is more important than the opposition regardless of who they are.

From the potential of having 5 English sides in the quarters to 1 QF involving English sides, please say the 2 Spanish sides are on different days, not interested in watching either of them.

Barca bore the life out of me (of course they have great moments but the spend a lot of time in games just tippy tapping it about and ruining the contest) and having to see Ronaldo's smug face is too much to bare.

They don't tippy tappy at all at the moment and are much more direct.

Even Chelsea had 44 per cent posession at Nou camp.

Similarly under Enrique they were more direct than under Pep

I've watched them twice v Chelsea and they were still doing the same tippy tappy stuff they've always done, for me it ruins the spectacle.

Yeah. Pretty much how I feel.

Yeah me too, we can win but it’s boring.

I like European games as it’s a different test.

Oh well, I am sure it will be a tight tie. More pressure on City than us (though wums will try and say otherwise).

As long as we don’t lose the first leg then it should be fun.

Some of our best CL memories have been against Chelsea, Arsenal and even United in the EL. Don’t mind playing city.

As a Utd fan who's taken loads of stick this week (deserved) this draw cheers me up no end. One of you horrible lot are crashing out and most likely the winner will have to beat not one but two of the giants in the semis and finals to win it.

The draw neither club wanted I suspect

If Liverpool get past Abu Dhabi then I wouldn’t begrudge them a semi final place, they will have 100% deserved it.

If you can take joy from your rivals being a guaranteed semi final position in the CL, then I guess it shows where United are at the moment.

Experience counts for a hell of a lot in these games. Hence Spurs bottling it vs Juve and Madrid getting past PSG with ease in the end.

Juve made 2 finals in the last 3 years and had the same players, some of whom have also won the World Cup.

Man City have only made the qtr final once before and Liverpool haven’t been in the knockouts of the CL since 2009.

Not sure the situations are that comparable.

I'm referring to somebody who said past records don't mean much in relation to wanting Madrid more than City.
