As the title suggests, I’ve had time to digest and think about what has gone on over the past week and past few seasons properly.
Hearing opposition fans saying Man Utd should not be happy with 2nd place and a possible FA cup win. Why? Because we are Man Utd. Nonsense. We are not entitled to anything. Sir Alex was one of a kind, his achievements will not be replicated any time soon. We’ve have underperformed by our standards since he left. Moyes and LVG failed to deliver. Bought in some terrible players too.
What is our identity? Fast attacking wing play? Football moves on in cycles. Nothing lasts forever. Liverpool haven’t had a league title in 25+ years. Arsenal in 12+ years. I just hope it isn’t our time to go on a barren spell next.
I wholly agree that everything we have witnessed this season is very frustrating. We know we have the players to play attacking football. Jose has spent a lot of money. I agree we should be doing better. But I feel Moyes and LVG did a lot of damage to the club. I don’t think many managers would have found it easier or done a better job than Jose has done. That’s all speculation of course and just my opinion.
Jose needs one more season and then if he fails to deliver, I’ll admit he has failed and is finished at the top. He is making it very hard for us United fans to back him. I just urge that us fans stick with him for one more season and see what he produces.
I hope Jose rediscovers himself, because at his best, he’s a winning machine.

Exactly what damage did Moyes do to the club? Yes, he failed, but he wasn't here à full season, only bought two players Fellaini and Mata. And I think Jose likes Fellaini at least as much as Moyes.

That side needed plenty of rebuilding... Aging players needed replacing... Midfield was awful... We all knew it and he did nothing... Well, bar Fellaini
How bad the season went knocked us back loads... LVG had an even bigger rebuild due to Moyes dithering

I think Moyes did a lot of damage to the club.
He only bought Fellaini (that is damaging in itself) in the first window.
He got rid of our backroom staff who were successful under SAF.
And he instilled a losing mentality among the players.

VC I think he bought Mata as well.
Surely our players aren't precious snowflakes that they develop a losing mentality so soon after SAF;
Of course he failed and had to go, and we wasted a season on the rebuild, though I don't think Ed helped too much there.
But I don't really see he harmed the club.
Or to put it another way, if SAF had come out of retirement a la Matt, I bet he would soon have had us on the right path.

He would probably have done what he always seemed to do, buy one top class forward, a midfielder, promoted a couple, and got a tune out of them.

I’d sack him now if it was down to me and take his crap, boring, negative chit football with him.
We are a chore to watch and I haven’t been excited for a game all season. I’ve stopped paying to go to away and cup games because it’s not worth the extra cash
