Should Liverpool fear City?

Part time curmudgeon VC seems to think Liverpool have โ€˜nothing to fear from Cityโ€™

Is he right?

Or is he wrong?

He requested this to be a debate so please indulge him

Head to head directly Liverpool have looked better than City so they have nothing to fear so long as they're at their best.

How did Liverpool looked better than City head to head?
Keep up the hype.

Well in 7 games under klopp his record is 4 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses with one of those losses on penalties, so really it's more 4-2-1.

City are the better side and will rightly be favourites but there's no question we have a better head to head under klopp.

You do have much to fear from this City side

They’ve scored 8 times in two games against you this season

We have a lot to be wary about. Our defence is also looking much better on the whole since those two games.

You need to factor in that the ref won't be English.

Liverpool FC always get picked on by the refs in England.

No way would a foreign ref have sent off Mane for a high boot,in fact Ederson would have been carded for feigning injury.

We all know Liverpool's heritage will be the difference between the 2 sides.

I never said we didn't, just pointing out that klopp has had city's number since he's joined us.

If you’re genuinely asking the question then answer is why should Liverpool fear City?
It really depends how the approach to the game goes and whether the players turn up. Liverpool havefew players who switch off like a against United they did.
But the. On the other hand, if the centre pairing in City's defense go awol then Liverpool can hurt them.

Pep will not be underestimating his opponents that’s for sure.
My feeling is that Liverpool will get undone by the marauding Sane who will rip that young man whose mistakes led to Uniteds first.
Adding that it wasn’t only his fault for that goal as Emre Can was easily brushed off too
Liverpool has a relatively easy path so far, time to show us what they can do against the bigger teams

Liverpool's defence will do good to keep that City attack quiet, they conceded two easy goals to us and they crumbled after that. Van Dyke has to be the most overrated defender going now as well.

Best CB in the league imo. Mistakes from Lovren and personal error from Alexander Arnold had nothing to do with van Dijk who had Lukaku in his pocket whenever they had a duel. And before that he had Kane in his pocket aswell.

As for the game itself, Liverpool knows they can beat City so there is no reason to fear them. However it would be naive to not give them the respect they deserve. Think City will go through though.
