Another one bites the dust

Although probably not a big surprise, it's difficult to see what Reading hope to gain by sacking manager Jaap Stam. With just 8 games to go, they are hardly likely to improve their performances enough to stave off relegation.

Stam becomes the 10th Championship manager to be sacked this season following on from:

Harry Redknapp
Simon Grayson
Leonid Sl**sky
Gary Monk
Carlos Carvalhal
Mark Warburton
Thomas Christiansen
Paul Heckingbottom
Steve Cotterill

Quite a surprise considering what he's done. I've seen several messages from Reading fans along these line:

@TalkReading

Hope Jaap Stam will be remembered as the man that came into a club going nowhere with no plan, revolutionised the style and took us to within two penalty kicks of the Premier League ALL in less than 12 months.
Remarkable achievement that won’t be forgotten 👏

Agree........but shortly after he brought Dave

It’s not surprise that the dinosaurs 🦕 still try to excuse their god

How much did they pay for him? Was it a million?

Fantastic business when you consider Saiss cost 3 million and is 100 times the player.

Surely one of the greatest sales we’ve had to date.......oh wait, £3 Mil for Dicko has to eclipse that yes ?

Was it 3, surely not ?

Dave and Misso = £4 Mil

Is there a more inoffensive club than Reading? They must be one of very few teams who don't have some sort of local rivalry/derby match.

They 'hate' Oxford I think but hardly a rivalry and i think Oxford have more issue with Swindon.

Remember Robert Maxwell and his Thames Valley Royals idea?

That proposal certainly poked the fire a little down in leafy Berkshire.

The traditional rivals of Reading are Aldershot but that died a death really when they dropped out of the league

They had a run of always beating us, plus they're a no history meaningless nothing club
