Midtable budget?

As quoted by hindsight Heckingbottom.

PH on squad: "As people they have been good and the response has been good. We are going to have to do a lot of things better next season if we are going to try and get in that top 6 especially if we are going to have a mid-table budget"

Whilst I accept that we don't have the money of Wolves and can't compete with clubs with parachute payments, I never want to hear a Leeds United manager talk about a midtable budget. Hecky is a small time manager and it's starting to show.

The way I read it following the quote above, he decided to change tact, the challenge was, due to size and heritage, to get Leeds back to the top table albeit without throwing silly money at it - which he probably hasn't got any way.

The interesting bit is that if he keeps his word and were not in the PL he will be gone in 4 years time.

I actually hate the use of the term 5 year plan as we were taught by our history teacher that the original one was cooked up by of all people....

...Uncle Joe Stalin. Each one being ridiculous and impossible to achieve - my History teacher not me!

2 or 3 places below Brentford probably.

Well it's consistency that counts Shaun

Comments like that typically represent the first step on the way to a manager's departure.

The interesting thing is if he’s true to his word he’s gone in 4 years?

And this is how owners brainwash the masses.

Hey give me 5 years if I’ve not done it by then il leave (with oodles of your cash).

Actually Jonty - wouldn't be surprised if he bails out in the summer, some projects are just to big and hot to handle if you haven't got very deep pockets or backing.

no chance.

word on the street is, PH will be here too.

think we will see more loans to buy this summer with our midtable budget , plus some champ players

think were out the FFP 3 year cycle from this summer arent we?

should give us more wiggle room for things.

JLA - apologies if I've got this wrong but I think you hinted at something the other night?

Interesting that both Pablo and now Pontus are keeping their options open based on what they think the clubs ambition is for next season.

Add that to PH’s statement and it’s pressure on AR to deliver next season.

Not sure PH will be here then though. He does seem out of his depth.
