Is ICC incapable or unfair?

Hello cricket fans from all over the world!

Do you think ICC is a fair organization?

Do you agree with Smith’s punishment of one test ban? Does it show their incompetence or they favor players from certain countries?

I don't think this morning's public humiliation was necessary. But the way that Smith and Bancroft behaved over the Bairstow incident means I don't have much sympathy for them. Warner is thoroughly unpleasant and I hope he never plays international cricket again. I agree that the bans are excessive and hopefully will be halved on appeal.

The tears are way over the top.

Felt sorry for Smith, I think it would be a shame for Cricket if both him and Warner don't play again. Even though it would weaken Australia slightly :p

Why does everyone feel sorry for him? If his name was Ali Akbar, there'd be calls for a life ban.

I do understand your view bro but definitely he got a strong punishment....

Now I think in future, other boards too don’t allow cheaters to get away as we know how competent ICC is.... lol!

Some people feel sorry for them as the punishment does not fit the crime. Ball Tampering has always been a 1-3 match ban yet these guys got a year.

The ban was so big due to the media attention and the idiot politics involved.

Can you explain my friend if you don’t mind?

fact taker - to answer your original question. The ICC have a lot to answer for:

1. There should be no grey area on ball-tampering. There should be very clear rules on what players are allowed to do to the ball and what is not allowed.

2. Tampering is a Level 2 offence with a penalty of 4 demerit points. This is inadequate (though the year bans are an over-reaction) and should be increased to deter rule-breaking.

3. Incidents of foul mouthed behaviour and confrontations have not been dealt with adequately. If they had, Warner would have been disciplined many times and wouldn't have been vice captain and the bullying culture in the Australian team would have been sorted out long ago.

4. According to former players on Sky, the modern cricket ball offers little assistance to bowlers and the design of the ball needs to be changed to make a fairer contest between bat and ball.

I suspect we all share a pretty low opinion of the ICC?

Amazing analysis Jack. I would like to add that ICC in the past were not fair or their punishments were not similar to players..

Hence, some folks here feel they had serious issues due to their incompetency or any other reasons! Now they will definitely try to act tough in future and may come very hard on minor infractions too.

We will see bro what happens.. 👍
