So basically according to the OP we shouldn’t read into any friendly victory but if there is no win in a friendly it’s a disaster

Personally I don’t read too much into friendly results.

I think England retained possession in both games pretty well and the formation plays to our strengths.

Netherlands beat Portugal 2-0 in Portugal so despite not being the strongest Dutch side they ain’t that poor.

England actually played pretty well in the 2 friendlies, certainly kept the ball better than recent years, I think a lot of fans like to moan about England now regardless.
