Spending money for Florida

Anyone been in the last 6-12 months?

I've saved £3600. (2 adults 2 kids) And i could take my Card when i'm out there, but don't really wanna use it. Park tickets already paid for.

We're using the free shuttles (for City Walk) and taxis. I was confident when i originally booked that £3600 would be plenty but the closer i get to the date, i'm now worried it won't be enough.

Any advice? Have already tried googling and trip advisor. Most recent advice on there is from 2013

Unless you are buying a house that will be plenty, but even then just bring another 50k and you can get one.

Florida is cheap as is a majority of the states and I would hire a car as that is dirt cheap also and gas is a third the price of the UK.

You don't drive

Well these guys barely can either and you don't even have to worry about gears, point it and put the foot down.

Used to own a villa in Davenport close to Animal Kingdom . Two things I always did and recommended to guests
Boggy Creek airboat rides ( not the self drive one),saves a long trip to Miama and in my view it's better than the Everglades, having done both.
If you can get to Clearwater Beach take the Little Toot dolphin watching trip. Never failed to see them jumping over the bow wave.Avoid the bigger boats like the Screamer. They need the Toot to find the Dolphins. Worth hanging on for the sunset celebration

I had a square boxlike ugly looking Buick, as part of my Fly/Drive deal but had to take it back to Sandford Airport on the 2nd day, with a slow puncture.

They gave me another same model which when I checked over in the parking lot had a big tear in the tyre, down to the steel wire armour underneath.

When I took the keys back to let them know that had a duff tyre as well, the bloke said in his American twang:

"Don't worry Sir, I'll get you a NICE car".

He gave me the keys to a Pontiac Bonnville. Not knowing much about American cars, I went to find it and couldn't believe what he'd given me - the mother of all upgrades!

It was in British Racing Green, think it was a V6 engine and it growled like a Tiger - best two weeks driving I've ever had!

Also is it bad that i've deliberately chosen to take my son out of school for a week to save 400.00 per person? That's how much more it would've cost to take them for 2 weeks during the easter hols.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not great. How old is he? Under 5 and you're fine. Two weeks is a long time though, I got all kinds of grief for taking my boy out for 3 days.

one week out of school. One week is what used to be 'whit' or 'wit' week?!

year 1

we've been told as a rule the school doesn't fine, yet. but it will be enforced in the not too distant future.

The missus has said, it looks like we're getting away with it this time and the saving we make on the hol makes the fine worth it, but we won't go during term time again.

Defo download Uber flash, and that's more than enough money.

And yeh fk the schools it's a non-brainer, so much cheaper and everyone does it

How long you going for? That money would last for 2:3 months and that’s if you’re going out every night

For that many people you’d need $100/150 per day max

And a bit more if you wanna buy clothes and any expensive tours. If you get a chance and if you’re near Miami do the Everglades tour on one of those airboat things. Pretty exhilarating and kids would love to see the alligators up close

2 weeks. My Missus says 3 days are taken up by a wedding, arriving and departing. But it's the cost of taxis out there i'm mainly concerned about

My mate looked up uber out there and he's recommending i download the app now and avoid peak travel times.
