Man City’s gameplan

Was their game plan today to just keep the ball as much as possible and swing it out to sane at every opportunity? It got very boring in the end.

What a performance by Trent

Have to agree TAA had a brilliant game. Thought your three in the middle and full backs were great.

Honestly Pep's tactics were absolutely atrocious.

Build from the right, get Sane to isolate TAA with his positioning and then switch the play to Sane. The arrogance in thinking that Sane would get the better of him every time

The great thing was there was no immediate support for Sane after Trent got close to him. No overlap because Laporte was too busy worrying about Salah. Midfielders were too far away from him. That what makes Trent's performance so great. It was literally 1v1 and he came out on top against one of the league's best...and there were still situations where he covered for his CBs.

Class.

Yeh this

Gundogan on the right who was no threat whatsoever, and genuinely he isn't a great player. Allowing Robertson to have the easiest day.

Then isolating Sane with no overlap meaning he would be constantly doubled up was also stupid.

Literally shocking tactics from Pep.

City's play getting labelled boring

Jose ball would've smashed you lot last night and would've been called boring still.

Come on Greg they just kept doing the same thing over and over again

What’s the definition of insanity again...

Doing thing over and over again expecting a different result

I thought the lack of support for Sane was shocking. Silva tried his best but even he was being double marked. Sterling may have been an outlet but he is not great in posession. Bernado Silva should have started.

game will be different at the Etihad if Aguero is back

Yeah I know, they looked clueless which was amusing for the side that's scored 88 goals in the PL this season.
