Yep this. Seeing out games and not going full pelt for the whole 90 mins had been an issue. It’s why we conceded 2 late goals against City in the league.

to be honest i was shocked at how average you looked once salah went off, and thats not a dig.

people go on about your front 3, but salah really is the glue that brings those 3 together with his touch, pace and movement.

thought TAA was your best player last night.

We were average before Salah went off, in the second half. The players retreated too much but you can't complain, at 3-0, a clean sheet is more important than another goal and we defended very well. I agree TAA was MOTM.

Milner should get a 12 for the way he nullified De Bruyne in the first half. He doiminated him all over the park. What a performance for a guy that age. Absolute machine


The reason we backed off when Salah went off was because the players were shattered you could see it. To have that high intensity from the beginning takes it out of players.

Klopp bemoaned the fixture list after the game so players were taking it easier plus we were under a lot of pressure so we went compact which was much better than in the league game where we kept going for it at 4-1 up and then let in silly mistakes. The clean sheet was the most important thing last night and VVD has added composure to that defence no end.

TAA & Robertson were also fantastic last night but Milner was the man of the match for me hands down.

Nice to know i'm being stalked, and obviously the game would not have gone that way, but as it stands, on the goals that were given, if you could retrospectively take off or add goals, it would have been 2-1.

Peps plan was to unleash a little more pace as we tired hence keeping Sterling on the bench..

Southgate needs a boot in the hole if Milner doesn't go to the world cup.

As squad option he is immense. I've been critical of us paying him £120-140k and him not being a regular starter but every season he goes on a run at the most important times for us.

He's been in beast mode since the Porto away performance.
