Carlo’s 2nd season.
Who’d you have more pity for?
Carlo or Antonio?
I have to say, as frustrated as people became with Carlo not replacing Super Frank with Josh etc and lack of progress in Champions League, but he kept an excellent dignified silence, when it was obvious long before that he was ‘a dead man walking’.
I remember even the people on You’re on Sky Sports said in about February 2011 that silence was deafening. I think we all knew as we feel we do now, Carlo was a gonner.
The difference for me now, is at the time, although it ultimately worked out well, I didn’t want Carlo to go. And in spite his jibes Pre-Christmas I still wanted Antonio to stay.
Now I feel no pity for him whatsoever and I think he needs to go.
It’s bad because, I cannot believe I’m saying this about a guy in his 2nd season having won the league in his 1st. I know opposition fans could use this as a stick to beat us with. But they’re not living this situation, we are.

Both did awful jobs in these respective seasons, but the answer to your question is Carlo, purely because of the fact he remained professional until the end.

Carlo definitely, he retained a level of dignity that made the way the Club sacked him even more embarrassing than it should have been.
I feel Conte has been trying to prove a point to such a degree that it has clouded his judgement and caused him to make some mistakes and poor decisions through not keeping his eyes on the actual ball that he should be keeping them on ie. being proactive, winning games and getting results.

Carlo for sure. We did far more to unintentionally undercut Ancelotti. Released several winners, expected him to blood youngsters who just weren't good enough, sacked his assistant and replaced him with a corporate yes man, etc... Conte is frustrated with a perceived state of stagnation, but Ancelotti had to deal with active regression.
Although I wouldn't describe the word as 'pity' myself when referring to either of them. Just my opinion but for different reasons, when Conte is sacked come the summer, I feel both have moved on at the right time with no sense of ill feeling from my prospective as a fan. Regret yes, because both had astonishing 1st seasons, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Feel sorry for Conte more, He could have done good things this season with the signings of Alex Sandro, Koulibaly, Lukaku & such but instead we bring in Zappacosta, Drinkwater and Torres v2.
