Not on tomorrow so throwing this on the whistle report now.

United have restored a tiny, fractional amount of pride tonight having stopped #titletuesday and ruining the St Mirren title party.

I think they owed the fans that much to be honest, the few who are still going to the games. It's hard not to look at tonights performance - one full of guts and character, albeit not a great deal of quality - and wonder where it has been this season. If they'd shown that amount of heart then we wouldn't be where we are now.

United scored after two minutes, a good team goal converted by Billy King. After that the game settled into a battling affair with both teams getting physical and referee Andrew Dallas typically being awful.

The Buddies had most of the ball but were content to continually throw it into the box, and United dealt with that comfortably all night. In fact I can't remember Deniz in the United goal having a save to make, the only St Mirren chance being when Mullan directing a cross onto the bar from a tight angle. In fact United had the better chances, particularly Stanton's late effort that really should have settled the contest.

We'll probably still get beat at Brechin next week - we are United after all - but given how keen the Buddies were to gloat tonight it was good to send them back down the road without their title.

From what I've heard St Mirren dominated but could not get the goal they required. Tannadice is a tough place to go in the Championship but when the title is in your hands you'd expect St Mirren to be more ruthless against an average Championship side

I heard you booted them off the park and you launched a 2p at Dallas.

How was the game Ivan ? Reading on mad the team battled well which has obviously been missing this season.hopefully not a one off and we can keep going and have a strong finish. Any standouts ? Good to see jordi briels back think we have missed him this season in this league. What’s the rumours on this take over in the city of discovery

Yeah I would echo that.

It's weird - both the CBs looked like an accident waiting to happen when they were outside the box, but they dealt with everything that came into the box magnificently.

I thought Gillespie did pretty well to be honest in the middle of the park. Snapped around the St Mirren players and moved the ball fairly well.

I wouldn't say anyone put in an 8 or 9 out of 10 performance, but then nobody put in a 3 or 4 out of 10 either, and that makes a change.

The Dundee Utd players were just thugs out to kick the St Mirren players

If the referee had any control he would have dealt with it early on but after 30 minutes with no bookings for some bad challenges he had lost control.
