Sterling

First of all, great win against city the other day. Truly remarkable performance over both legs. Who would have thought ayy? 😏.

This may be an unfavourable question but do Liverpool fans on here feel hard done by, giving the abusive stick towards Sterling? The player after all moved to a club who were competing on all fronts at the time. I feel as if the transfer then, was a win-win for both clubs and player. We got the money. Sterling got the better club. For the stick he gets from our fanbase I believe is well over the top. You have to feel sorry for him surely?

Also that unsolicited interview with BBC. More or less told the club he’s too big for them.

Yeah I think it was the interview that did it.

It didn’t sit well for him to do that.

The way he and his agent acted was too ott for me Tbh. Rodgers r3ally protected him and was then slapped in the face by his agent and sterling and really stabbed him in the back. The interview with the BBC didn't help either.

Glad he is gone. Even better we knoxked him out. He didn't play at anfield as gurdiola knew he wouldn't handle the boos.

rodgers claimed sterling had agreed a new contract when he hadnt, which then made things even worse and he ended up leaving (probably would have left anyway)

He's become a pantomime villain.

Its amusing when former players can't handle it. Unfortunately for Sterling he is performing similar to how Torres did when he played against us. Job done for the Anfield crowd.

Milner strangely got abused from some City fans. It didn't effect him one iota.

I was sorry to lose Sterling but had no problem with him wanting to move on. I do have an issue with a player (any player whether we're the buying or selling club) threatening to go on strike to get a move. Equally the interview was ill-advised. Liverpool were paying his wages every week and he was threatening not to work and giving interview against his employer.

Ultimately however, as others have said, I think he was a young man badly advised by his agent. I certainly don't have any ill-will towards Sterling, he moved for what he considered to be the good of his career. Many of us would do likewise.

I have no bad will towards him regarding the actual move, but the way he went about it was pretty cr@p considering we were his his first senior club.

The nterview that wasn't even sanctioned by the club where he might as well have said I'm off, playing poor for the last 3/4 months of the season after it, talking about winning trophies with city when he was anonymous in the semi final against villa etc. Skipped training too if it recall correctly.

Imo you boo every player that leaves to a club that you are in direct challenge with.

Not that I have anything against Sterling. I always praise his talents even when City fans were doubting him.
