Why is Mourinho so hated at United?

I really can’t understand it. The weekend before last United beat Man City and that’s barely any reaction from the fans on here. They then suffer a shock result and all the ‘fans’ come out doubting Mourinho and saying how unhappy they are. But they’re in 2nd place and in the semi finals of the FA Cup. It’s exactly where a club like Manchester United wants to be, competing for trophies and at the top. Sure, they’re not 1st, but 2nd is not a position any manager ever should be under pressure in. So I don’t understand the reaction of some Man Utd fans.

I then see people complaining about style of play. When was the last time Man Utd had a ‘style of play’? 2009 probably. Don’t act like Mourinhos style is so terrible when even the great sir Alex Ferguson didn’t have you guys playing anything special in his last few seasons. I see people looking at Liverpool and Tottenham and they ignore the prices these clubs paid to get where they are today. These teams had inconsistent league form and shaky defences for years as they struggled to even qualify for the CL before their efforts to implement their style finally began to bear some fruit (although they are STILL below United in the league). Klopp in his first season at Liverpool had some shocking results, finished 8th and didn’t win a single trophy. If that happened at Manchester United you would fire the manager. Even now klopp won’t do better than 4th place this season. And he won’t win a trophy. Those results just wouldn’t be accepted at Manchester United, so don’t tell me that’s what you want because it isn’t.

I don’t understand why Mourinho isn’t loved at United like he was at Chelsea. Back in the day we didn’t always play amazing football (although we did have some periods where we did) but even when we didn’t, we still always loved Mourinho and supported him. We got behind him. We loved winning games even if we didn’t play a great style, even if we had to play defensively to win some big games. We didn’t mind, we still were happy. Why is it so different at Manchester United? I don’t understand why you’re so unwilling to get behind Mourinho and his methods even though they are delivering results.

lets be honest. Liverpool and Spurs does not give a fxxx about second place. Only Jose is obsessed with it.
Liverpool agenda is the Champions League and top four spot.
Spurs Agenda is the FA Cup and third spot.

Love it. So United are only going to finish above Liverpool because Liverpool don’t care about the league. Always some excuse.

Instead of competing with City, who are supposed to be their equals, United have problems

-United are nervously looking at Liverpool and Spurs behind them

-Out of Europe despite an easier tie than Liverpool and Spurs had, Spurs were actually unlucky, United got beech slapped at home by midtable Sevilla.

-Fellaini

-Getting ragdolled by West Brom and struggling to muster a shot on target in multiple games

-Play the most boring, uninspired football I've ever seen, Serie A included

-Hoofchester United

-Their manager is the absolute mammoth all time world heavyweight champion of caaaaaaaantship

-Pogba the all time world heavyweight champion of flopping

-Their best young players want to get the fack outta there so United will have to pay them a small fortune to make Jose's crap worth taking

-Fellaini

-Essentially playing with two fullbacks per wing, three Centre Backs and two holding midfielders.

I could go on but I'm not in the mood for writing a bestseller today.

Did I mention Fellaini?

No Love made some good points in his second to last comment. Sadly, he was wrong about cup wins. If he said League Cup, he'd have a point or the Europa before it allowed the winners into the CL, then yes. But most of us have taken Jose in his achievements here in context.

Now, many aren't happy with Jose as many didn't want him here. But he is here and will be backed but also criticism will be directed at him as he is a very defensive minded coach.

We can talk about media chat, but if that's anything to go by, Fellaini will be at Liverpool next season and Salah at United. So those could be ignored.

Back to Jose. He has frustrated along with certain players. He never dropped Pogba last season or Zlatan when they were on a poor run. He has this season with Pogba, but now Lukaku has become undropable despite some games might be better with some men such as Rashford leading the line. Who, imo, is better as a Cf than a LWF.

He has done well to get the best out of Lingard and one or two other players but overall, its a case of could do better. And fans expect he and the players should do better.

He’s hated because it’s all about him at the exclusion of all others, and in a club where one of the bedrock principles is that nobody is bigger than the club this self centred egotistical behaviour was never really going to work.
Given some of the truly top-class players Man U that performance against West Brom was shocking. It would have been better to concede the Title to the far better side than hand it over in such squalid circumstances against a team destined for relegation.

fans were quiet after the city game because they realized it was a fluky result. could have been 4 or 5 nothing at half time. with the players that he has he should be braver. sevilla springs to mind. if you lose a couple more games this year and finish 4th would you be happy with him.

I think you'll find that employees at a football club are often quite close to players.

Erik. Football isn't all about results whatever you may think. It's also about pleasure, watching your team strive to be the best. We have had decades of success, but more importantly decades of watching exciting attacking football. Jose only provides half of that. I wouldn't say he's hated, but we think we can do better.

The most fun I’ve ever had watching Chelsea was seeing our players fight like warriors putting everything on the line against Bayern Munich in the champions league final. What mattered was the victory at the end of it. I don’t understand your viewpoint at all. For me it my team wins that’s all I care about. I couldn’t care less about the style of play.

Sorry from someone who went to munich that is bollox, the result and occasion was the best footballing night of my life, but it was torture for 120 minutes, nail biting and we couldn't get out our own half.
