Football On A Saturday Night

I thought that playing on a Thursday or Friday night was bad enough, but this latest stunt is beyond the pale.

There has been talk in the NEP regarding non availability of trains back to Nottm. This game is being played so late I can't catch a train back to Bristol!

Was interested in the last away game at Bolton. Forest are putting on free coaches for the fans. Sounded great until I saw Bolton are charging an outrageous £35 for a ticket! What a rip off. Nearly as bad as Leeds.

How much did we charge Bolton at the CG, surely that should be reciprocated, ideally across all games, would save being ripped off. Surely it would be the easiest solution.

You’re guilty of applying logic there, Dave!

That game v Bolton would have been one of the Lower category games at the CG so prices would have been in the range of £20-25 for adults, more towards the lesser figure. The prices for seniors and juveniles would have been significantly less than Bolton are charging for this fixture in May.

I appreciate Bolton are in a bit of a financial hole but this kind of pricing structure is all short term thinking. They’ll get the same reputation around the country as Leeds have for charging extortionate prices for away fans and people will begin to discount it from their list of prospective away trips, just have many have with Elland Road.

Reading have got it spot on. They have fully committed to the twenty is plenty campaign and have managed to get a few clubs to reciprocate.

Forest aren’t doing bad with the pricing structure they have announced next season where they have categorised the games. Cat A will be £28 with a sliding scale down to Cat D at £15.

Hopefully, most, if not all, clubs will get on board with this kind of thinking as they have to realise they are bleeding fans season upon season. Only those at the very top of the league manage to maintain their crowds, although Forest have managed to significantly increase their average attendance this season by using their heads and setting prices at a reasonable level.

Just found out Wolves fans are only being charged £27 for their game at Bolton on Saturday. 😮

While I applaud the commitment of fans who go to away games, who in their right minds would choose to visit Cardiff?

It’s not as nasty as the old Ninian Park in fairness. Built in a retail park this one.
