Reported to have said that on his first meeting with LVG, which lasted a minute, was told he could go. Was then texted about "How football is" when he was sold.
I find it funny that LVG could say that and be mad about how he was fired when he treated a player like this.
I liked Rafael and he's a better player than Darmian, who was bought in to replace him.

Ferguson never told me to go into a game to defend. He always said go out and attack. Brings a tear to my eye.

Did we compete in the europa league?
Pretty sure we went out at the second hurdle after losing the goat farmers at the first hurdle

Yes, we were dumped out by Liverpool.
Temporary amnesia?

Who knows?
I mentioned the punditry to explain Giggs seems to be quite boring lacking any great character, as the video of his team talk also showed, as did the rumours that his interview for the Swansea job was underwhelming.
Is this really that hard for your f-cking stupid emoji head to understand?

π Very aggressive
His team talks musnt have been too bad. He won 2 and drew 1 of the 4 games he was in charge post moyes

Van Gaal was a colossal fack up, anyone that's excusing him has to be deluded. The only annoying thing is we replaced one conservative manager with another.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a moronic statement considering he had to pick the team up, manage a transition and compete for top 4 whilst rebuilding a new team.

Lvg had the right idea football-wise I think. Just couldn't execute it.
For one, as Rafael says, he just comes across as a horrendous man-manager. Unable to adjust his style for the new generation of players like Fergie did.
Secondly, his possession football needed a star man, someone to unlock defences, and we just never had it. Di Maria and Depay were supposed to be those guys but failed spectacularly. Closest we got was a young Martial.
And all in all he was a massive failure in the transfer market. As soon as he went into that second season with Rooney as the only recognised striker he was doomed. God knows where we would have ended up if not for the emergence of Rashford and Martial that season.

Excellent points
Which is why I made the statement about what he could have done with players like Sanchez, Lukaky, Bailly etc.

Random but good on Michael Carrick I say.

""I'd get the ball and look to play it quickly to Cristiano or [Paul] Scholes or [Ryan] Giggs," he said. "So many players you can give the ball too. Fergie always wanted me to get forward. He never said: 'Today we're going to focus on defending.' Never."
Interesting paragraph...

One of my biggest regrets is having the twins leave OT. Their wing play vs. Arsenal was amazing, and after that display we never saw them again - WTF??? Sure, they're not setting the world on fire now, but I think we could have developed them into excellent players who could have spent their careers here.

I never really rated those Brazilian twins. They only looked OK because of the better players around them
