Just woken up. Everyone seems to have left and the stadium's been locked up. Can't get out. I guess I'll have to stay here tonight.
So, while I'm here I might as well fire off some ratings.
Hamer: 7 - Assured, spread himself well for Long's chance, and generally put in a good performance despite not having a lot to do.
Albrighton: 8 - Usually found out at full back but wasn't bad defensively today while providing a genuine outlet going forward. Most balls that split the Southampton defence were his. My choice for our MOTM.
Dragovic: 7 - This really looked like an audition for him and he did well. No dramas and cleared things up nicely when asked a question.
Maguire: 6 - Sloppy and a little unsure at times in the first half; improved in the second but looked frustrated at the quality of ball in to him when in attacking positions.
Chilwell: 7 - Provided energy on the left flank again but couldn't find a breakthrough ball. Solid if untested defensively.
Mahrez: 5 - On the beach somewhat. His touch was way off today from what we know he can do. Made a few decent breaks into he box from the right touchline but couldn't find a final ball.
Ndidi: 7 - Reminded us what we'd been missing in the first half with a lot of tackles and interceptions. Couldn't help the attack in the second half but good overall.
Silva: 6 - A mixture of great touches and poor ones that gave the ball away. Looked annoyed at times that others weren't reading the ball he wanted to play.
Gray: 5 - Showed some drive to go forward in possession but was so often daydreaming while the game went on around him.
Iheanacho: 5 - Tidy but slowed the game down too often, nullifying the attack he was trying to create. Still worth patience though as he looked better suited to the number 10 role at times today.
Vardy: 6 - Energetic but largely unable to get into the game. Another who looked frustrated rather than fluent.
Diabate: 6 - Some nice runs and moves, while still showing a lot of immaturity in being unable to really influence the game in key areas.
Choudhury: n/a - wtf?
Barnes: n/a - Seriously, wtf?
I suppose the one positive from the match was that I wasn't cheering on the blokes in red and white. For a team in a position usually described as "fighting for their lives", I saw little resembling either fight or life from them. They were appalling and there's surely no doubt that they're going down. We should have smashed them but we didn't.

two players on the bench Simpson and Morgan unless you think the dropping of the Captain is also a non event?

this is 1 game nev. Bet you they're back next week.

What's that got to do with 100k per week players not performing on the pitch last night? The closest Morgan got to the pitch was when Dragovic went down injured.
Frankly I agreed with Puel trying out Dragovic and Albrighton last night and both played well, but that's a complete tangent.

I think it roughly equates to anyone signed by Np or before apart from Mahrez.

We will see BS enjoy the moment, i will when Puel gets a 140m to spend on the Squad or we sign Wenger as director of football to join him

Giving Puel £140m would be like giving you a dictionary. Pointless

Rafa apparently has a £6 million release clause with the Club struggling to get him to commit to extending his contract which has just over 12 months left.
Maybe if Our Club offer him Nevs/ Puels £140 million war chest he might just come our way!
